Yeezus
We should all know what it does. I'm interested to see what people think would happen.
Maeriberii Haan
added consistency to alt win decks, FTK/OTK decks, and all other decks that shouldn't really matter. Everyone and their mother will run this since this has no drawbacks at all while being a raw +1. How much it'll affect the meta though can't be answered without testing or theorizing with numbers. Just prepare to face lots of FTKs and alt wins.
Yeezus
lots of FTKs though? FTKs would obviously get a boost but it would not put them in a position to top/win events consistently
Aerion Brightflame
Every deck in the game because 39 cards + Pot. That's what would happen. All it would do is widen the gap between top decks are lower tier decks, since top decks are more consistent so they get the card more often, so they get the draws more often. ~British Soul~
I swear we had a topic like this last format as well. Anyways, given the fact that it can be run in any deck, is always live and requires no thought or interaction is just silly, and its cell in Yugimonz jail shouldn't be unlocked as its key had been thrown away. This post used:Posts of Greed [Spell] Every time a topic about "Pot of Greed" is posted: Add 1 Post to your Post Count. Maeriberii Haan
imo, only time PoG would be fine @1 is if the maindeck minimum is increased to 50 or more. even if it does, i'm still iffy on it.
Not-so-Radiant Arin
imo, only time PoG would be fine @1 is if the maindeck minimum is increased to 50 or more. even if it does, i'm still iffy on it. Increasing the Deck Size still wouldn't warrant the use of this card, and Konami wouldn't change the mechanics of a game just for a single card (granted they're already doing it with Dragon Rulers, but the damage has already been done there). 玄魔の王
Wait, so they've confirmed Dragon Rulers caused a change in game mechanics? OT: this is one of a handful of cards I think should never come back. End of story
Yeezus
what mechanic did they change? been out of the game for so long lol
Althemia
Wait, so they've confirmed Dragon Rulers caused a change in game mechanics? No, Arin just made it up. (Being dead serious, I don't know where they got it from.)PoG should be fine to come back to 1 at some point in time imo. Not right now since they're trying to promote a slower format, but maybe sometime in the future for sure.
Not-so-Radiant Arin
I meant this. That was what I was talking about.

Stan Alda
+1 free hand advantage? Oh yeah, completely balanced. Isn't it funny how the simplest cards can be the stupidest? I'll let Bill Murray sum it up... On a side note, I wonder what superdoopertrooper would think about it.
Steve The Bug
What would happen if Pot of Greed came back to 1? Except not really. The format would slightly faster, slightly more consistent, slightly sackier, but IMO it wouldn't affect the decks at the top (unless there is some kind of special circumstance)
Maeriberii Haan
Pot of Greed is one of the few (almost)non format defining cards that should rot in the forbidden list due to promotiong linear deckbuilding and alt-win decks.
玄魔の王
The only time PoG can come back would be if we ended up with another "sit On Dekoichi and Reaper for 20 turns"-esque format, and I don't see that being made.

The format would slightly faster, slightly more consistent, slightly sackier, but IMO it wouldn't affect the decks at the top (unless there is some kind of special circumstance) I'm pretty certain he was exaggerating for comedic effect, but the point remains the same. The trouble is that the top decks are breakneck-fast, consistent, and sacky already. Dragon Rulers in particular can draw themselves by their own effects, and adding a costless +1 draw could make them even faster.
Steve The Bug
But it wouldn't destroy the format or change the top decks. The only issue in my mind with this card is that it gives FTK type decks a boost which is not okay.

The only issue in my mind with this card is that it gives FTK type decks a boost which is not okay. Actually it does change the top decks. A deck is generally a top deck because it's consistent, more so than lower tier decks. Which means greater deck thinning, which means on average they draw into pot more often, and use it more often. Also the cards they draw from pot will generally do more, so they get more out of it. It won't break any decks, it will just make the gap between the consitent top decks and the less consitent weaker decks bigger.

Miror B
A few techs would chain. Nothing else. Pot is "balanced" in that it really doesn't cause a deck to dominate the format. All it'll do is make fast decks faster and slow decks...well, faster. The "unbalanced" part of PoG is the linear deck building idea, where if PoG isn't banned and you're not playing it, you're a scrub.
