Blake
Other than Leviair, it's the best R3, because it's good at basically every stage of the game and it does what it does so damn well. It's a sublime opener, a great mid game card if you're just going for Rank 3 beater or looking to protect a certain monster, and perfect for keeping you from losing too hard to Mirror Force, Bottomless, TT, etc. It's just an amazing card with such a low, generic cost, and it really doesn't get the attention it deserves in a lot of cases. Like pairing up with Gaios or Bahamut Shark in Mermail, which is something that reallycame to light at the start of this format.
Dementuo
It's actually really, really versatile, since unlike Zenmaines, it gives total protection for a full turn, and can protect ANY monster.

It's a shame it took seeing play in Mermails for some to realize that.
Ghostrickster
Have never payed much attention to it, mostly because it doesn't give the pop, so I never found it worthwhile, though it might be kind of decent if you have the space for it. This is actually a lot better than Zenmaines because it achieves something so rarely seen these days: It keeps your win condition on the field for more than one turn. Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
The only downsides it has in comparison are this: Doesn't have an above average stat to sit on without having to resort to its effect Can't pop cards if its effect goes off However, it does have: Okay ATK Protection of more than just itself Makes Dimensional Prison cry (confused me at first) Is chainable
byak
It's a shame it took seeing play in Mermails for some to realize that. Why? Other than the aforementioned Mermails and Geargia it literally has no place in any other competitive deck.
Daigusto Sphreez
I use this card in Constellars, although that isn't exactly a heavily rank 3 based deck. It's very useful when I'm waiting to draw the right cards to summon a constellar xyz in 1 turn, it's good for any deck which needs to bide its time now and then really. Zeppeli Gyro Supreme
Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that it's an effect that activates, which is only relevant in comparison to Zenmaines for the effects of cards like Archfiend Heiress. I saw someone use this the other day in Karakuris, and not sure why I didn't think of it. It lets you spam out the synchros and then get free draws from them when you protect them.
