Toffee.
Target 1 monster on the field; return that target to the hand. It's the simplest effect ever, and yet...
See, back when this was at 3, people mained them in like 3s or people overlooked this card all together in favor of things like Judgment, Bottomless, 2x Torrential, etc. And even if they did main all 3, you expected it to show up, because it wasn't really anything truly game breaking by itself, and just proved to be a silly little card that was actually useful. Of course, this was during the time we had Storm, but that's partially irrelevant.NOW, since this card is@1, it has turned into nothing more but flat-out, absurd, winmoar. Coupled with the fact it being Limited, to which its now a 1 out of 39 other cards in your deck, gives it such an unnecessary luck-based factor to the card itself, and just overall makes it look stupid by design. Yes, this is a partial rant, but it's just stupid that this card goes from being a cool choice as a means of monster removal, to something sacky and blatantly win-moar.Konami, if you really wanted to get rid of this card and Bottomless for that matter, why didn't you just put it at 0 and be done with it? I mean, it's absurd how going from 3 to 1 just ruins all respectable value of this card, and turns it into something that it never should have been in the first place. Yes, Storm is now gone, but that's a pretty bad excuse to suddenly go limiting something as trivial as this card. Hell, this card even used to punish blind Typhoons, which, smart players would never make in the first place. So we've also gone and eliminated that whole mind game as well, since, you know, gotta' capitalize on that whole luck-based idealism of yours, Konami...t;ldr - Arm is an idiot.
Discuss. Strider Tigerwolf
its stillb a useful little card even at 1. If anything konami shouldve hu t it to 2 for "quality" control with the banning of heavy storm.
Sleepy
I'm gonna say this now. The card is not really bannable, but it is not well designed either... at all. It's as chainable as Ring of Destruction, but it exchanged the horrid burn with the power to hit face-downs. It doesn't destroy, so it can bypass the build-in protection of many cards. It can be used in many scenarios, most of which have a heavy enough impact. -Use on an Extra Deck monster = Your opponent just lost 2 cards (materials) from their card advantage and there is no consolation prize. -Use on nomi/semi-nomi/High Level monster = Tough luck. At least to me, it's happened that I use this in a BLS and the opponent no longer can fullfill the conditions, realizing their hope for a comeback just banished. -Use on a typical Main Deck mosnter = You still made an impact if you played it right. It probably resulted in 1 less attack towards you and 1 less way to Synchro/Xyz Summon during Main Phase 2. OR on your opponent getting delayed 1 turn of their plays, potentially making them lose the remaining setup they had during your following turn. It can arguably be said that it's not really broken anymore, or that it's versatility means you have to know how to use it to get the biggest benefits from it. From a design standpoint, I think it's kind of a waste to do something as good as this. I would have made less good versions of this card to make players think pros and cons of each, and potentially slow down possible powercreep, or the future placement of a card in a list *cough cough*. The card is great to prevent comebacks, to be honest, even if it does help a losing player as well.
