"You can banish 1 Fusion Monster from your Graveyard; Add this card in your Graveyard to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Polymerization" once per turn."

Bonus points for also eliminating Gem-Knight Fusion... Heh...
(I mean, on the off chance someone suggests we include said cards)

But anyway....

Reason for joining: Interested in the outcome of this project.
Card you would like to see in the first set: I don't know yet. I'll think of one later.

Alright, then.
But what's wrong with making them into Synchros and Xyzs?
And maybe retooling some of the old cards into Tuners?

 

Because we'll then waste a (maybe not so) good, salvageable mechanic that might create an interesting playstyle.

 

Also, let's talk about Rituals. How would they be handled here so they don't get the same fate as in the actual TCG?

Well, we have plenty of Fusions that are perfectly fine.
I don't see why we can't make them into something more viable.
As for the Rituals, we need to...
1. Make the cards more recyclable.
2. Make the cards worth the effort.
