Target 1 non-DARK monster you control; equip this card to that target. It becomes DARK Fiend-Type and gains 1000 ATK. When that target destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can banish 1 monster from your Graveyard; Take 1000 damage, and if you do, draw 2 cards. Banish at the end of the Battle Phase.

I get the impression this card supports cards like DAD, which, in turn, need [X] DARKs in the Graveyard. But at the same time it's effectively a stronger Horn of the Phantom Beast that is also a lot more splashable. Not to mention, the fact the sudden +1000 boost by itself is rather strong.

So yes, I would say the fact it draws 2 is a bit much.

So I should make it less than 1000, and 1 card instead of 2?

I'm thinking you could actually get away with the +1000 ATK and 2 card draw.

Yes, the card is a stronger and more splashable Horn, but it comes with the drawbacks of requiring a monster from the grave for the card draw (barely a problem, though), and then it kills your own monster at the End Phase, compensating the +2 you took from the card draw (unless you use the monster for a Summon or cost before it dies, or you target a monster with protection against destruction, but you get the idea).

From that perspective, it is a more splashable but slower "Wonder Wand". If anything, I would change the timing of the destruction to "at the end of the Battle Phase" so you will have less chances of using the monster for a Tribute/Synchro/Xyz/etc. Summon or paying a card cost, and possibly drop the ATK boost to 500~700; but drawing 2 cards should be fine.

I like how Catastor can randomly die from this card.

I have and idea which I shall call "Kami-Kaze" combo.

Mist Valley Falcon becomes your guardian protector here, making a second attack that turn to cleanse your monster's soul. The best of both worlds.

I think the 2 draws is a bit much considering how the destruction can actually benefit you in certain decks. It's essentially a Quick-play Pot of Greed that gives an extra boost and triggers the monster's effect in that case.

I give up on this, or maybe I should remove the ATK boost, or something, and stuff.

Not necessarily. The Virus cards are more of a tech or Side Deck choice. You won't be using them if you don't have easy access to DARK monsters as is. You definitely won't be breaking anything by using this in a deck where you have to use this to provide a DARK for them. Odds are that you might also not use this card in other cases if you have so many DARK monsters that this card is situational (after all it can't boost originally DARK ones).

And to be honest, Virus cards are problems on their own.

That said, I personally still feel this card should give you less of a powerful reward in exchange for eliminating some of those extra clauses that try to balance it out, but again, that's just me.

How about turning it into a Horn look-alike rather than Wonder Wand? remove the banish effect on your own monster, reduce the draw effect to only 1 card, and drop the ATK bonus to 500~700 (so it won't outclass Horn).
