Geartown

Field Spell Card

Both players can Tribute Summon "Ancient Gear" monsters with 1 less Tribute than required. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Ancient Gear" monster from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard.

Now, as it stands, Geartown is a decent Field Spell due to its ability to spawn Ancient Gears (especially Gadjilitron Dragon) from the Deck when it's destroyed, especially when replaced by another Field Spell, and especially when that Field Spell is your own.  HOWEVER, in the OCG, the new Field Spell rule now treats this replacement as "sending to the Graveyard" rather than "destroying", so if this is the case, Geartown will no longer trigger by Setting or activating another Field Spell after the new rule takes effect.  This rule, like Closed Forest, will make Geartown worse.

So what do you think?

Here's a link to the new rules in detail.

Just as I mentioned at the Pendulum thread half an hour ago. It'll hurt it.

Not that it's that widely used nowadays anyways, and you'll have to resort to Double Cyclone and Magical Hats more, and Scrap Dragon, and Black Rose, and that Trap that destroys S/T when something destroys by effect, who knows what else.

There are options so if someone wants to play it they can, only now it's not as much the "go to" of Ancient Gears as it used to be unless you dedicate a bit more to it.
