ITT: No Extra Deck Limit

Recommended Posts

3x Blackship
3x Exciton
3x Roach
3x Lavalval Chain and Daigusto Emeral (Not answers, but f***ing good generic cards that are basically Guile's theme for R4)
3x Giant Hand
3x Abyss Dweller
3x Rhapsody
3x 101
3x Dire Wolf
3x Caingorgorm

And that list goes on an on, not only with even more answers, but with niche cards, other power cards, and 3 Mats that range from answers (Masquerade, sometimes Ouroboros, Disigma, 69/One-Eyed Skill Gainer) to power cards (Amaterasu, Deltella Knight, sometimes Ouroboros, Night Papilloperative for pushing, Shark Drake for pushing), and access to 3 different "are you losing? Nah you win now" cards that would no longer be a waste of space.

And since most R4 decks also have access to Lv. 8 Synchros:
3x Stardust Spark
3x Stardust
3x Scrap Dragon
3x Blader
3x Jeweled Red
3x RDA
3x Colossal
3x Thought Ruler
(continue down the list)

R4 would def be the best Rank, though given that most decks for R7/8 and sometimes 6 are stronger, idk if they'd be plain dominant.

And this is generic. Doesn't account for Bahamut Shark, Omega + Ptolemy, Tsukuyomi, Albverdich, Fork Hyuk, Plain-Coat, etc.

Hell, there's even an ED answer to Skill Drain, more-or-less.

Even if it's possible, ideally a person summons max half the cards from their Extra. And usually depending on the deck they'd only summon at least 2 of their bosses unless their defense sucks compared to their consistency. A limit on an Extra just helps thin out the necessities and discrepancies to make things healthier.

But for this case if I could take advantage of this, something like Wind-Ups would alleviate the game with infinite SHArk, Exciton, Zenmaines, Caingorgorm, Tiras, etc. :)

I would like playing Fableds, Junkdoppel, or perhaps Sylvans under this just because of the options those decks have.

And could you imagine,

"Excuse me sir, I think you have too many copies of Stardust Dragon in your Extra Deck, I'm going to have to get a Judge to search it just to make sure you aren't cheating."

- 3 hours later -

"Okay never mind, your turn."

You know me. I'd love to play Fableds.

I wouldn't because the maindeck consistency isn't there to back up the ED from the gods, despite the deck having access to almost literally everything.

No mention of Chimeratech Fortress Dragon? It's an easy 1-card shut down of Machine Decks (Cyber Dragon) like Karakuri, or regular decks that just-so-happen to have machines in them, like Dracosack.

Probably see more Instant Fusion for those fun and weird decks that use Instant Fusion for Xyzs or Synchros. It'd be really versatile too, because you can summon so many different levels, types, and attributes.

....now where did I put it....

Right next to your Dark Master Zork:

Ok, but seriously, it's safe to say that the 15 Extra exists because of these sorts of reasons. I mean, has anybody actually dueled someone, and literally used a wheelbarrow full of Extra Deck monsters? There was no rule against that, so... Yea.
....
Either that, or I guess they just wanted to keep it more organized.

Well, in the anime they sort of solved this by having blank cards then magically creating the card just when they needed it.

see: Shooting Quasar Dragon

Or in a worse case, ZeXaL spawning Numbers out the butt.

Limitless extra deck? I'll play my one million fake numbers including the real numbers 1-4 and Chaos forms.

Except that's not actually the case with Yusei.

During the series, Yusei used exactly 13 ED monsters, bar SSD and SQD, if you include Junk Gardna from the movie which IS canon. He ended up using the 6 other Signer Dragon cards (AFD, PTD, BRD, RDA, BWD, LSD). SSD and SQD were blank, but... they didn't go over the limit, because it's implied he edited his deck pre-ZONE.

Junk Archer

Junk Warrior

Junk Berserker

Junk Destroyer

Junk Gardna

Road Warrior

Drill Warrior

Turbo Warrior

Nitro Warrior

Armory Arm

Formula Synchron

Stardust Dragon

SSD

SQD

Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste
