Favorite Final Fantasy Game?

Tell me guys, what is your favorite Final Fantasy game, and why? Is it your favorite because you grew up playing it from your Childhood? For nostalgic reasons? Because of the music? The atmosphere? The characters? Generally anything you liked about said Final Fantasy game.

 

For me (if you have not guessed) my favorite Final Fantasy game is Final Fantasy X, and my reasons are due to all of the above ^

The only main series one that I played were IV, V and VI, but the ones that I like the most are actually the Tactics series. I just love tactcic RPGs.

VI, and II.

 

VI is one of the best classic RPGs I ever played, and it has Setzer and the best FF villain ever (Kefka).

II, horrible, horrible mechanic aside, is quite intriguing. And the Emperor is too damn competent compared to most villains ever. Too bad a gamebreaker makes short work of him.

I agree, II had terrabad mechanics but the plot and characters were very interesting. I have a imported version of II for my psp. The Emperor is what I figured to be the epitome of all villains in a Final Fantasy game. Also, IX was not half bad in my experience (and before the hype train/fanbase comes crashing in, I much enjoyed VII)

I is good for nostalgia, otherwise lacked way too much things compared to later ones.

Haven't played III.

IV is a classic, pretty good game. Best version is the DS remake, due to how freaking hard it is.

V's job system irks me. But it has Gilgamesh, and Exdeath is quite amusing. Also, best protagonist in my opinion.

VII is VII, some absolutely loves it, some found it overrated. I'm neutral on it, finding it a good game, but kind of slow, but maybe that's just me.

Tactics Advance 2 for gameplay, Tactics for story.

 

If we're just talking about the numbered games, then 8 for how busted it is.

Is it weird that I thought 8 was going to be the most overrated one? Granted, I could not really get into the story but that is just me.

XII was pretty intricate I have to say. The party system was pretty unique and was a turning point in how the other Final Fantasy games progress from that point. 

XIII was, well, you can be someone who loves it for its atmosphere, music, style among other things, or you can be someone who dislikes it for its linear characters, straight forwardness of a story, and less open world exploration. (I for one actually liked the new battle system it had, except that the auto-battle portion made them way too easy). I ultimately enjoyed XIII-2 more so than XIII that is for sure. I cannot think much of Lightning Returns as I have not played it.

Honestly, FFX has such an amazing battle theme I just cant NOT choose it.

I've only ever finished XIII and Tactics Advance.

And while many people hate on XIII I actually really enjoyed it, it was a beautiful game and the battle system worked for me so much.

Nobuo Uematsu is a legend, and his composing style will forever be at the top of my list. I think I only played 1 Final Fantasy Tactics game, but I cannot remember which one to be exact ;_;

Fun Fact: The only Square Enix game I've played is the first Kingdom Hearts.

Technically, the game itself has Final Fantasy characters and is action RPG based. To be fair, I liked the Disney aspect of the game more so than the Final Fantasy ones. For whatever reason, they felt so... out of place in that game.

Hey guys if you liked Final Fantasy X & X-2, you should check out my Custom set for them. Nonetheless, I just tried FFXIV: Realm Reborn about a month ago (free admission for 1 month) and I have to say, that game is definitely promising. As to whether or not its worth paying monthly to play the game is left to one's own decision (personally I cannot get into MMORPG that you have to pay to get all the cool stuff, it is part of the reason I stopped getting into my Runescape phase.)

Even though I've never finished any of the games and only played partway through like 3, I'd have to say FFV is my favorite, because Exdeath.
