[Giga's Singles] Rank-Up Envoy

So, if any of you have dueled me recently or seen some of my posts you would know that my primary deck is Rank-Up Hunders. Now, the problem with Rank-Up is that running too many makes you susceptible to dead draws, while running too few opens you up to having a good deck not being able to rank up when you want to. Now, without further ado, I present... Rank-Up Envoy!

2 Level 4 monsters

Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; add 1 "Rank-Up-Magic" Spell Card from your Deck to your hand. This turn, you cannot activate cards, or the effects of cards, with the same name as those added to the hand by this effect. When this face-up card on the field is targeted by a Spell card you control: Draw 1 card. You can only use 1 "Rank-Up Envoy" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

Now, as said on the card, the powerful effect of searching for one of several, admittedly powerful spell cards is offset by not being able to use the searched card that turn. This greatly reduces the risk of the card becoming an OTK engine, which frankly I think is a good idea. HOWEVER, after waiting a turn, if you target this with the RUM you searched, (or any RUM... or any spell, for that matter) you get to draw a card. As evidenced by the power of Starliege Paladynamo, drawing a card is VERY, VERY GOOD. But even so, what can this be ranked up into, anyway?

Of course, you COULD just use it to rank up another monster, opening up EVEN MORE OPTIONS

Nothing wrong with OCG, just got to capitalize "card".

Anyways, this card has some potential. A free search into a big, possibly OP beatstick is pretty interesting. The fact that you can't activate it during the turn you add it is a nice drawback, although I would bump up its ATK a bit to prevent it from being run over as easily. Maybe 2300-2400 would be a better number. As it is right now, though, it's pretty good. The free draw from a spell card targeting it (Forbidden Lance?), along with easy access to C101 (only one worth using really) make this, in my opinion, a pretty good staple in Rank Up decks.

Actually makes Rank-Up Magics not s***. Think Reptile engine.

I'd change it, though, to make it just a little more versatile. Instead of restricting it so you can't use the RUM that turn, just make it so that Envoy itself can't be targeted by a RUM during the turn it searches one.

The fact it draws seems a bit winmoar, but it's slow to use it so not the worst design.

Alternately you could just remove the draw bit altogether and it could use the RUM on even itself that turn.

Could do with a 50 point atk boost, tbh. Low stats seem fine, but given how important 2200 is a number right now, it seems nice to design it with +50 ATK for that... OR +100 for the fact that searchers like this thus far both have 2300 (King, Gigant). Flavor and such.

The typing/attribute is a nice bit of subtle flavor, given that LIGHT + Warrior fits both the monster that has the most RUM'd evos and one of the better Attribute/Type combos for RUMing overall.

Overall solid, just a little inelegantly designed.

I wish this card is "Number X39: Utopia Envoy" or something that Quick Barian can target.

As stated by JAD above, this card needs more atk. 2500 might be nice, as it can only adds RUMs, and nothing else. The ocg is perfect, nothing is wrong. I have nothing else to say, other than its atk, it is good.

Not to seem like I'm that nitpicking, but you don't really need to list that the first effect is Once-per-turn, when the text then lists you can only use 1 of it's effects per turn, and only once that turn; Just seems a little redundant.

I wish this card is "Number X39: Utopia Envoy" or something that Quick Barian can target.

But it's already a generic Xyz that searches Rank-Up cards. What more do you need, really?
'Course, the name bonus would open up the possibility for another card or two that it can Rank-Up into, but still... Just searching Rank-Ups alone is amazing by itself.
