Ice Hand & Fire Hand

Recommended Posts

For those who might not know the cards.

Fire Hand

Ice Hand

I'm curious about YCM's opinion on these two cards now that they've been around for enough time to be tested.

I've heard they have been topping, and can't help but notice joke images around them such as:

Some say it takes flavor off some of the decks they are used in.

Some say they are just list attention-worthy in their own right.

Some say they like the gamestate situations where they appear a lot, such as setting an 1800+ wall to stall them or force them into a bigger monster.

I'll be honest, I've had just around 2 matches in the last 2 or so months, so that says a lot about my current knowledge of the game. So I neither agree or disagree anywhere here.

What are your thoughts?

They're a pretty Handy card, capable of Handling a lot of situations for me, and they can roll the advantage to be quickly out of Hand for your opponent. Though they can make some deck less consistent than they could Handle if they use these, but most of the time the reward is better. Opening multiple Hands in your opening Hand sucked though. Still, they're one of the easiest to use things in the game, I guess. Just summon them, Slap your opponent monster with them, then go to town. Or just sit at one, so it can give the Finger to the opponent when they struggled to answer it.

Safe to say they ended up being pretty knuckle grinding cards

And they are none that you can shake a finger at

The good: They punish you for attacking a Set monster, something that hasn't been a problem for some time.

The bad: They punish you for blowing them up, attacking them with a stronger monster, controlling a stronger monster, controlling Spell or Trap Cards, controlling cards, and playing Yu-Gi-Oh.

They're very good cards, but I feel they each should have been limited to "once per turn", just to prevent ramming multiple copies per turn and getting close to a board wipe. That said, they do have weaknesses, such as needing to kill the designated card in order to SS...but that's not a crippling weakness.

The Even Worse: Opening with more than 1 masssssively sucks, because then they float less.
