Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell

Pros side this against Shaddolls.

oh god yes. I don't care how much I minus myself just to see the look on the player's face when he realises 'no more Shaddoll Fusion for him' (not that I actually see his face: I'm obviously only playing on DN).

The biggest problem really is that Spells are a valuable and scarce resource in most decks. I suppose something like Mythic Rulers could side this card for Shaddolls since they quite often have dead/unnecessary spells. They have Kuribandit to get to Spells quickly as well. Also decks that play Upstart and Duality, I suppose. But apart from that it won't see play since its really costly.

The biggest gripe players have with this card is the Spell requirement. Normally you'd rather use whatever Spell you're discarding unless it's a dead copy due to a "one copy per turn" restriction. But when it works, boy does it work.

Remember Jaden's face/reaction when Bastion finally decided "no, sir, no Polymerization for you"? Same thing applies when you throw a wrench into their combo-enabling Spell.

Considering Pendulum monsters can be spells, and monsters are inherently more recyclable than spells, and this negates the activation of a pendulum monster into the pendulum zone...

Yeah, doesn't this work a lot better versus pendulum monsters than regular spell cards? Idk, still seems meh, but that's just one thing you could do.

Are you allowed to discard a Pendulum monster for this thing's effect or are they still only considered monsters in the hand?

Honestly when it comes to cards that specifically target spell cards, I tend to look towards Magic Drain first- at least when the deck you're playing against doesn't like wasting its spells.
