Infernity Archfiend

When you draw this card (except during the Damage Step), if you have no other cards in your hand: You can reveal this card; Special Summon this card from your hand. When this card is Special Summoned: You can add 1 "Infernity" card from your Deck to your hand. You must have no cards in your hand to activate and to resolve this effect.

 

So, Sehabi Kheireddine from Canada took the World Championship using Infernity. Not an unexpected result, but it might warrant some discussion.

Worst thing about this card is that its stupidly searchable, and it provides stupid applications. This card is basically the bane on why Stratos was banned and yet Konami cant come to terms about this not being at any number than 3. Why I do think hitting Infernity Barrier was a good decision, I believe hitting this will also be a great decision.

If Infernities can win worlds then why the hell does Kalin never play them right in Tagforce 5 and 6

 

He chose to banish this and keep beast in his hand when using Allure

among other incredibly stupid plays

His story mode

was such a freaking pain

and I have to do it /2/ more times

 

I never realized this card had a face til now

Honestly these are my thoughts

 

Archfiend-Advantage

Necromancer-playmaker

 

I'd honestly like to see Necro hit before Archfiend since Archfiend alone other than Topdecking it does nothing whereas top decking Necro allows you to summon dead Archfiend, get launcher, Monster reborn 2 get moar advantage and another playmaker to continue derping.

 

Short: Infernity combos rely on Necro more than Archfiend.

This card is fine when they ban Chain

No, no, no please. Banning Chain is just avoiding the problem, and is an unnecessary hit, plus I don't want to see another innocent card get hit because of a borked set of cards/one card. (Think Dragon Ravine and Dragon Rulers). Semi-limit Arch instead.

Chain's not innocent at all, and a semi-limit to Archfiend does NOTHING.

 

Chain's always going to be a problem enabler because it enables too well, making it a major problem beause of the sheer potency it has. It's awful design and just gets moer powerful as the game goes on, only serving to aid power creep.

 

Infernity Archfiend's an absurd searcher that's too good above 0, were you to hit the deck again.

Chain is really good, yes, but outside of Infernities, it's not broken. I really don't like the idea of banning Chain - it would hurt Gem-Knights and Zombies too much for my liking... but I do agree, a ban is the only way to stop Chain.

 

Archfiend @1 would solve quite a bit of the Infernity problem I think, since the deck's main power plays rely on 2 Archfiend (being a Level 4 Infernity) for its Xyz plays. Infernities would need to rely more on the sub-par Infernity Guardian then, and lose a lot of consistency. Looking back over it, Black is right - Arch @2 does do nothing.

 

Noden will break Infernities even more. For this reason, Arch needs to be hit soon along with Chain - though as I said, it may be a personal bias but I don't like the idea of Chain being banned.
