1 DARK Tuner + 1 non-Tuner Insect-Type monster
If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate any Spell or Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step. Once per turn, you can select 1 face-up monster your opponent controls, and equip it to this card. If this card would be destroyed by battle, you can destroy the monster equipped to this card by its effect instead. (You can only equip 1 monster at a time to this card.)

Been trying to find a deck that can fit this in snugly. The problem is the insect requirement. Either way this could be a better card if there was non-dedicated deck that could abuse it.

You can splash Krebons + E-Teles on anything with Myrmeleo.

The equip effect is cool because it is technically a non-destructive removal effect. However, one of its issues is that it won't disable the floating effects of cards such as El Shaddolls.

Kinda' wish they didn't nerf this card. I mean, it's the smallest thing ever, but makes this more of a threat then it already can be. Like, even with it's DARK + Insect requirements, it still makes it nothing more then an oddity of a card.
But ehhh... It's still fine as-is.

That, honestly, sounds really damn hilarious.

I do like the anime effect much more. Much easier to get out onto the field as well.

Man, this thing was a BITCH when I played Rudger in Reverse of Arcadia...

What's the difference in effect that you're referring to? The fact that the anime one allowed face-down targets (though that might be because nobody ever Set monsters in 5Ds...)? Regardless, this card is pretty damn potent in anything that can get it out, it's just a shame that there aren't many good Insect cards to take advantage of it. Insects in general have been kind of ignored lately as a Type. Sure, there's Inzektor and some of the Traptrix, but Inzektor isn't really splashable and Myrmeleo is the only one I see commonly, and it's just used for H.A.T. decks.

Insects could really use some cards to make the type as a whole more consistent. Look at Warriors, for crying out loud.

In addition to that, the anime's immunity wasn't limited to battle destruction.

Dark Synchro
1 non-Tuner monster - 1 Dark Tuner monster
In order to Special Summon this card, subtract the Level of a "Dark Tuner" monster from the Level of 1 other monster you control; the value must equal the Level of this card.
If this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate Spell or Trap Cards until the end of the Damage Step. Once per turn, you can select 1 monster your opponent controls, and equip it to this card. If this card would be destroyed, you can send the monster equipped to this card to the Graveyard instead.

Are the parts that I prefer over the current.

I do remember making an insect deck a little while back before dionaea was around, using the other traptrix cards and infernity beetles, just because this card is so good. With support cards like verdant sanc and imitation insects besides inzektors definitely have the potential to shine if konami actually make some better generic insect monsters.
