Embryonic Dragon

This monster is created from two monsters who already create another Fusion Monster (Thousand Dragon). The point of this monster is to summon very powerful Dragon monsters through Fusion Summon.

"Time Wizard" + "Baby Dragon"
This monster must be Fusion Summoned. It cannot be summoned any other way. Once per turn, you can Tribute this face-up monster you control; Special Summon 1 Level 8 or lower Dragon-Type monster (from your Deck or Extra Deck). If you Special Summon an Xyz Monster: Attach this card in your Graveyard to it as an Xyz Material.

As always, feedback is very welcome!

OCG notes:

Changed the "discard" effect to Tributing, so it makes more sense as you don't "discard" an Extra Deck monster. Also added a small addition to where it has to be when you do Special Summon an Xyz Monster (most of the time, it'll be in the Graveyard).

Anyway, while the materials aren't particularly used often, except out of fan decks or something, this card is essentially a Cyber-Stein or one of those other searchers that Special Summon a monster for high cost. Ah yes, also a less costly, but Type-specific version of Temple of the Kings (and it's banned).

It's Instant Fusion bait, so you could SS this without going through the prerequisite Fusions, tribute it and then drop a Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Number 107 (especially in conjunction with it being Ranked Up to C107; heck you could hypothetically SS C107 directly, at the cost of it being vanilla for most part), Number 99/46, Shooting Star Dragon, Scar-Red Nova or any of the boss Dragons out there for very minimal effort.

If you've read .Saber's guide, cards that can Special Summon from the Deck (especially ones with the capacity to bring out common bosses with little effort) need to be tread around carefully.

For fixes, I'd recommend changing the effect to require this card be properly Fusion Summoned first, and limiting its SS targets to the Main Deck. For additional balance things, negate the monster's effect. As noted above, this can potentially make a 4.5k monster appear without doing much (except for paying 1k LP in most cases). It can still summon powerful monsters from the Main Deck (and potentially Xyz fodder in a later situation), yes, but it's not as overpowered as this one is.

Over. f***ing. Powered.

Also impossible to trigger. So I say it's balanced.

  1. You can't discard a Fusion Monster since it is never in your hand.
  2. Temple of the Kings is banned because of this effect, albeit this is a type-locked version... for the most supported type in the game.

Total overhaul required. Desperately. Use this:

Time Wizard + Baby Dragon

You can banish this face-up card you control and any number of Dragon-type monsters you control or in your hand; Special Summon 1 Dragon-type monster from your Main Deck with an ATK equal to or less than the number of monsters banished to activate this effect x500, but it's effects are negated and it is banished when it is removed from the field. You can only use the effect of "Embryonic Dragon" once per turn.

Would this be more balanced?

Fixed the PSCT. Also, Xyz don't have Levels.

This is MUCH better. Now you have to combo it with Atum to get your boss out.

Thank you very much! It's good to know that someone thinks it's balanced now.
