My October 2014 Banlist (TCG)

I want to say two things: First, I do not mind if you scan through this, I understand reading can be a pain. Secondly, I am more of a casual player than competitive player (though I would like to be competitive) and my knowledge in the game may not be as large as yours for this banlist is base on my experience in the game thus far and is what I think should be the banlist.

I have been told by some ygo players that konami does not hit new cards from a new set that came out recently, so, I have put '(if not new)' if the cards are not new.

Forbidden:
-Infernity Launcher [Reason: Infernity Archfiend and Infernity Necromancer (or 2 of the same card) are primary targets for launcher. When either one (or both) are summon, it would result with the player adding 1-3 cards that will interrupt an opponent's play, as well as xyz summoning to continue the player's advantage or setup.]

-Royal Tribute [Reason: Majority of the time a player will have 2-3 monsters in thier hand at most. Regardless of the requirements of this card, the potential to eliminate a player's hand by 2 or 3 cards using 1 card drastically lowers a player's advantage while maintaining yours.]

Limted:
-Elemental HERO Stratos [Reason: HERO set will not come any time soon. HEROs will only have 6 cards to search each other.]
-Cyber Stein [Reason: 5000lp to bring out 1 all powerful monster is great if your going to win in the same turn. With Soul Charge being a very common card, few decks wouldn't dare pay 5K for 1 monster. Additionally, with so many answers to stop the Cyber Stein and the fusion monster, it wouldn't be a struggle to deal with.]

-Thousand Eye Restrict [Reason: Being the only monster that can attack and no other monster can change battle position, it is not that powerful anymore. Thousand Eye can only protect itself from battle and being the only monster to attack, slows the game very much. Though an opponent will not have a struggle with this at all, being able to special summon freely and activate effects, it should be no problem to get over Thousand Eye.]

-Dark Strike Fighter [Reason: With the announce of Dark Strike's errata, it would make no sense to change a card and have it still banned. It would go through the 1-2-3 test limit process.]

-Satellar Knight Altair (If not new) [Reason: Altair is a 1 card exceed without losing too much advantage similar to wolfbark. Deneb simply allows a setup for next turn. Limiting Altair limits the plays for satellarknights, though they do have Vega, however, Vega requires the monster to be in hand, risking card advantage which is very important on the current game.]

-Sinister Shadow Games (If not new) [Reason: I'm convinced, Shadow Games allows a Shaddoll player a fast setup along with gaining quick advantage. With such advantage and setup, a Shaddoll player can double their advantage within a matter of few card activations putting their opponents to their knees.]

-Burning Abyss Scarm (If not new) [Reason: Is fastly abusable. The deck is able to recycle Scarm very quickly from the Graveyard. Limiting will only slow the deck down.]

-Solemn Judgement [REASON: With Soul Charge and Wiretap being common in a few decks, Judgement may or may not be use. Paying 1/2 of your life points to negate 1 card can certainly win a game, but also cost you a game too.]

Semi Limted:
-Gladiator Beast Bestiari [REASON: Has little to no play at all. Will not impact the meta or other decks, merely boost Glads. It will take the 1-2-3 test limit process.]

-Infernity Necromancer [REASON: Simply slows the deck by 1 card, I think.]

-Infernity Archfiend [REASON: Simply slows the deck by 1 card, I think.]

-Goyo Guardian [REASON: Has not made a major impact on the game. Synchro summoning is not common anymore. It will take the 1-2-3 test limit process.]

-Torrential Tribute [REASON: Players will be more vigilant towards their action. This will also put the game in a sedate pace I would hope.]

Unlimted:
-Formula Synchron [REASON: Again, synchro summoning is not too common. The ability to draw 1 card after a summon and a potential exceed or synchro is great. Formula simply restores advantage from the two cards you sed to summon it.]

-Chaos Sorcerer [REASON: Sorcerer is not powerful on its own, but can lead into some decent plays and recue missions. At 3 would mean no harm, simply to hope you draw it more frequently. Also, banish 1 face-up monster is good for the game, we need some sort of a balance like this.]

-Magician of Faith [REASON: Ha complete the 1-2-3 test limit process and has made no significant impact on the game. At three it will be fine, seeing they're are not too many powerful spell cards.]

-Dragon Ravine [REASON: We need dragunities to be alive again more than ever. D.rulers can use this, but not as helpful anymore. D.rulers is a tight deck, it'll be hard to squeeze Ravine in there.]

-Hieratic Seal of Convocation [REASON: With backrow being extremely relevant and decks that can have powerful field presence, hieratics aren't that big of a deal. If you interrupt them once or twice, they may not have a plan B or C. Point is (a very weak point) We have battery man otk, so we need hieratic otk. ]

Rescue Cat should never come back from the Banlist, too much broken plays are made possible by its very existence.

 

Stratos should come back to one, if you ask me. Satellarknights could get 3 copies of a Stratos, and E-Heros get none? A Hero Lives could go to 1 or 2

 

Infernity Necromancer to 1 would totally cripple a deck with so very little monsters to replace it. Mirage is nice, but heavily unreliable. Archfiend and Necromancer should go to 2 instead.

 

Gale should go to 3, this is of no personal bias whatsoever......

 

The rest of the list is fine though

The only real critiquing I can give at the moment is that this list sucks duck.

 

If you provide "reasoning" for why, I can then promptly explain why you are wrong about the choices. 

 

In particular a few limited cards and god that Unlimited List is also atrocious. …looking at the Limited list.

you are hitting the wrong cards, entirely. Altair? Construct? I think you mean Deneb and something else. (I dunno here…personally, Sinister Shadow Games and Winda…)

 

Please give your reasoning, please. Or was it ever even there?

I'll give you that you didnt put Trooper to 3 lmao

 

Royal Tribute is too irrelevant to be banned, and is not a catalyst to a troll deck. It should go to 2 so GK's can be competive (Or try to be).

The Artifact Engine should be left alone.

Launcher is a good hit, soul charge is a card anyway.

Bottomless is broken when you can search it, needs to stay at 1. 

I think T-King is balanced at 1.

All the new hits are unacceptable.

 

IMO Soul Charge to 1 is something that needs to happen. Though if it does launcher can be untouched.

 

 

There some cards in this game that are on too high a power level to exist... super rejuvenation is one of those cards.

Ravine is alright I guess.

 

Honestly theres not much now that should be hit besides Soul Charge. If anything now is the time to bring back cards that aren't as relevant.

I have heeded your guys/girls critics and adjusted the listing to what I think should be the banlist. My justification for the cards may not be the best for, again, my knowledge in ygo may not be as great as yours.

The list may still suck, but, it is what I believe. Appreciate the time, insight, and critic you have given to me. My knowledge has now grown a bit.
