Madolche Anjelly

Spirit Beasts feel like the new Madolche, just like they felt like the new Gusto.

 

Difference with Madols is that they ended up going off the deep end with design, and it worries me that the, at present, teetering design but weak Spirit Beasts have this coming.

Yeah, that's pretty much my play. Anjelly Tribute into Hootcake and SS Messengelato for a Spell or Trap (Usually Chateau or Ticket)

 

Interesting thing to note is the last part of the effect, has caught quite a few people off guard when I have to explain to them that the SS'd monster cannot be destroyed in battle. But yeah... The Madolche Archetype as a whole is pretty Degenerate and you need to build a Deck around it to even make them usable. Anjelly should ALWAYS be run at 3 though. Her effect is just too good. Also the Art is adorable....

To be fair... That's what happens when you forfeit the (intended) player interaction that Gustos have, and go with a more direct route that enables the toolboxing upon stuff hitting the field, like with what Madols ended up being.

It kind of saddens me about what Madolche ended up being. Back then Queen was problematic enough, but at least it -was- the only power play from a slow grind deck back then, however broken it is  (and everyone back then kept on trying to find inconsistent combos to spam her). Then Hootcake and Angelly geared the deck more towards Queen spam.

 

But really, problematic card is problematic due to allowing Madolche to go into Queen more efficiently and consistently, but the deck's not relevant enough these days, thankfully.

 

But really, even as a Madolche player, I kinda wish that we'll never get any support ever again, since it'll just either ends up shitty and unnecessary, or it'll make Queen even more powerful, and queen is already a huge mess as she is now.

Anjelly is usually more of a safer option considering you can get Hootcake out from the get go (if it is not in your hand of course) Also there is the Not Destroyed by Battle thing which is nice.

>Mew, Special Anjelly from hand

>Angelly for Hootcake

>Hootcake summon Messengelato from deck, search ticket

>Hootcake and Mew for Invoker

>Invoker summons another Messengelato (no effect of course)

>Both Messengelatos for Tiaramisu

>Tiara effect (you have hoot or mew from invoker in grave here)

>Ticket effect

>Continue bullshit

Why does Konami keep making lonefires? Didn't they learn their lesson with plants, initially?

They kinda did, seeing as how lonefire's advantages were 3 card deck thinning and pulling a big monster that stayed on the field, as well as being able to tribute other monsters besides itself

3-card deck thin? This into Hoot into Messengelato into a Spell/Trap.
Big Monster? Not directly, but acts as a stepping stone to Tiaramisu etc.
Other Monsters? Fair enough, but it doesn't really need to.

The whole issue is just this thing's synergy with hootcake.
