Tourmaline
Man, that's a lot of questions. To the first two: actually really bad lately but I guess I'm fine on the outside. My opinion on myself is equal to whatever you think of me. I'm pretty shallow in that way, so you tell me.

Tourmaline
Here's hoping things with your family improve if they ever will. Why is your chosen name Alice? They probably won't for a while. Actually, I expect that to crumble even worse than it did two years ago during the entirety of 2015. I'm not looking forward to that at all. In terms of the name.... If you go on my profile and check my username history, my first one was actually borealis111. It definitely is spelled in the way a child would spell it, considering the first letter not being capitalized and the addition of numbers at the end. But I've been using the name since 2007, actually, when I signed up on GameFAQs (though it was with a 110, not 111). It's actually the community I've been active in the longest, since I'm still active there today and have lurked the forums often for years before I even signed up. Anyway, not long after I first joined, Megaman Starforce 3 came out, which my brother and I were really looking forward to after we both played the second one. I never got to finish the first one, but the second one left enough of an impression on me so that I was excited to play this one. When it came out, I had my brother also make an account on the site because there was a forum for the game with its own community. I did start out as a nobody there, as my brother did, but then I learned that there was actually a competitive scene in the game on that part of the forum where there were even established groups of players (clans/guilds/et cetera), which the best players were usually owners or members of. My brother decided to make his own guild based on Kirby, which was awesome because I love Kirby. The name actually came to be because, as my mother wasn't aware of what was happening on the site, since she was crazy enough to get me an iPod Touch, I used the opportunity to at least say I was female if people would ask. I definitely told my brother it was just to be silly, but it felt so much better than otherwise. As the guild became involved more in the community, I actually gained a lot of popularity and ended up befriending a lot of the best players there. One of them actually ended up developing a crush on me for some reason that I didn't understand, and he was actually one of the top players, himself. But because I gained that popularity, I was being given nicknames and stuff by the community, rather than being spoken to in an overly formal manner that you might with a stranger, and from that, most of the people were just using "Alis" instead of the whole name. So even after the community died and all the guilds disappeared, I decided I would use something as close as possible to the name those people gave me, because I was very comfortable around those people and we spent enough time together that they were able to become a gateway to a world my mother never would have let me seen by myself. When I use the name, it's kind of just calling back to those days, since I was really fond of them and the people were also fond of me. It's also, as the first time I told people I was female, to sort of give thanks to the people and place that helped me realize all the gender stuff I have to this day. I also love the Victorian era, so it works perfectly for that, too. Also again, Koko suggested the name which reinforced my intent on using it.
