If your parents were to die right now, what is your plan?

I had this thought: "My life depends on my parents. If they were to die, I wouldn't know what to do with myself."

Let's just assume this and that you have no way of getting with your relatives... what's your plan in advance in this hypothetical situation?

My plan... join the military. Drafting myself is convenient, it'll give me the self-discipline I need, and it'll grant me a promising future, and if I die on the battlefield, then I don't have to worry about one.

Discuss.

If you are a minor, the amount of choice that you have is fairly limited. It's most likely that their will - which they probably have - outlines a plan of action for someone to take custody of you. Sure, you can make choices past that, but I promise that this is something they have considered as well.

If it matters to you, you can ask them.

I'd take over our portion of the business and run it (my dad is associate with two of my uncles). I already work with it for 6 years anyway. I'd try to finish my degree at least (2 years to go) and continue running our business and maybe start something for myself in the area of consultation for other firms.

I have quite a good plan if I happen to lose my parents.

Get a job and pay off any utility bills I'll have to put up with. (Means that I'd better hurry up and get my degree)

I have relatives though, but rarely see them (or they're screwed up from years past; not from my hand though)

Luckily I have no siblings to care for.

But seriously, I will be crushed if my parents go out. (They're in good shape, even if they are in their late 50s / early 60s)

Pretty much my circumstances, although my parents have confirmed with me that in their will, it's stated I'd go to live with my aunt. Who's nice enough, but no substitute for the fam. ;~;

Tears aside, call a friend. "Hey, bro. Can I chill at your place until I am of age and stature to properly support myself?"

Seems like a decent plan.

According to dad's will, I get to live with my aunt and uncle in Arkansas. Bc ftw and fml. But I plan on running. Doing what I can until I'm 18, cash in on the trust fund my grandma left me half of. Apologize to various persons for running. Cry at night over my lost life and dad while on the run. Miss you guys at Ycm.

Reminder that this is General and not Misc.

To be fair, my post was perfectly on topic and didn't break any rules. Sure, it was short, but it's what I would do if my parents were to die.

I would probably move in with my girlfriend and work on finding a full-time job.

^I second this.

Seriously. I'd party so hard.
