Cont Spell

During each of your opponent's Standby Phases, inflict 100 damage to your opponent for each monster in your opponent's Graveyard. If there is a Monster Card in your Graveyard, destroy this card.

Came across this card earlier. What are some possible applications for this today? With how Pendulums don't go the the graveyard, it could be useful, especially against stuff like Zombies. For the sake or argument, let's say the burn was increased, since I'm sure they wouldn't release it with the burn as low as it is.

Unless your Deck is 100% Pendulum, or you have a way of making your monsters stay out of the Graveyard, I personally don't see much use for this.

Most I can say is probably Qliphorts and Performapals (less likely on this, due to some of their members), but yeah the burn damage is too menial to be of any use.

If it were increased to 300 or something, then yeah it would start to be more of a threat.

Worked well in anime because Rafael made sure his 'mons didn't hit the Graveyard, and Yami used his quite often; also because of the 4000 LP thing.

Otherwise, I really can't say much on this.

Ah, Rafael, you so devoted to your monsters. Your cemetary is so pure and monster-less, and Atem's is so...tainted. If only your devotion to your monsters could have been released as a real card.

*looks at Soul Charge* Never mind! I didn't mean it!

Honestly, though, this card is amusing by anime standards, completely worthless everywhere else.

That's also worth pointing out here: this card as basically just to put extra pressure on Atem, dealing only 1400 damage over the course of the game and putting him on a clock to force him to use the Seal. It was not the core of his strategy as it related to a win condition, though it played its role in bringing things to that point. It does appear in his second duel, but only in a hand-shot.
