Pendulum Xyz 2: Revengeance [Toyo Single/Written]

Recommended Posts

In light of Konami releasing a Pendulum Xyz almost a year after I made it, I decided to update the original draft for it, just because i can.

GjESVcW.png
Pendulum Effect: ① Once while this card is in your Pendulum Zone, when the effect of a Pendulum Card in the Pendulum Zone is activated: You can negate the activation, and destroy it. Then, the owner of the destroyed card can place 1 Pendulum Card with a different Name, Level OR Attribute from the main deck to that Pendulum Zone. (If able)
Monster effect:
2 Level 3 Monsters
① When this card is Xyz Summoned: You can attach 1 Pendulum Monster on the field to this card as Xyz Material. ② If this card has a Pendulum Monster attached to it, you can place it on one of your unused Pendulum Zones. (This card's Xyz Material(s) are not detached by this effect.) ③ If this card is placed in your Pendulum Zone by this effect, its Pendulum Effect becomes: Once per turn: You can Detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Target 1 Pendulum Zone, it cannot be used while this card is face-up on the field.

Original the thread
LIGHT/Machine typing was waaaaaay before Infinity was a thing, so don't knock on it for that. Card is general pendulum hate, really. Also, some of the text is carried over from its 2014 incarnation, made when nobody really understood what Pendulums do, so the OCG might be off. And, it has been upgraded from "Maybe never to be used" to "Main deck worthy" because lolQliphort is a thing now.

Until Konami makes a ruling on how Xyz Pendulums work, I have to move this to Experimental.

However, Nai and I are trying to figure out a solution to things, so we can allow them in Advanced/Casual (basically, how are we going to treat them if they are sent back to the Extra or how their effects apply and all that other stuff)

This is just one of those weird mechanics that we really have no explanation for at the moment (such as whether or not it can use its Xyz Materials while in a Spell state).

Again, this will get moved back to Advanced once a proper ruling has been determined on how they're meant to function.

Sorry about that.

The mechanics on this are still fuzzy; whether or not you can Pendulum Summon this again assuming appropriate scales or if Xyz Materials carry over when this becomes a Spell Card.

But yeah, this would go to the Extra Deck if destroyed; and presumably you could just re-Xyz this or something.

Just wait until Konami makes an official statement on the matter.

For now, let's just assume that Xyz Pendulums can be re-summoned if you've properly Xyz Summoned first and have the appropriate scales.

Nobody is confused on that. The problem is that the f***er is a Pendulum with no Level.

That's my issue with it because pendulum summoning designates monsters with a level and this card has a rank.

Yeah, and that's one of the reasons why I had this moved to Experimental in the first place; because at the moment, we have no clear idea of how this is supposed to work.

For the moment, we'll assume that Konami made some ruling that allows Xyz Pendulums to be re-Pendulumed if their Rank falls between the scales, and things work like normal Pendulums.

Again, Nai and I are still figuring out the best course for things, so just be patient.

@Toyo: Let's assume that you can Pendulum this if it gets sent back to the Extra Deck, using the standard mechanics (and assume that Ranks are treated as Levels for this).

That's basically the ruling your sis (well, bro, since Nai is confirmed male) and I have discussed regarding these for now. Probably makes things easier to deal with.

@Chaos Knux: Please remember to follow the AC; just comment on the general effects and stuff (disregarding the nature of Pendulum Xyz) and that's good enough.

I thought AC didn't apply in Casual?

Anyway, the pendulum effect of this card looks lifted directly from OERD,TDDO with the activation timing changed. Not a bad thing just unimpressive It's hurt by the multitude of non-activating P-Effects. The monster effect would be alright, if not for the fact that IIRC Spells can't have X-mats.

Not if the text states otherwise =3
The pendulum effect is really a way to either negate your opponent's triggering pendulum effect, such Qli Scout at the risk of them playing it again, or, switch out a pendulum you have. I might change it so that the summoned thing has to be a different name/level/attribute/material or something.

heres my Xyz Pendulum Template I made, if anyone wants to use it: http://ulrichshades10.deviantart.com/art/Yu-Gi-Oh-Xyz-Pendulum-Template-516498656

Please do not advertise in another member's thread.

If you're going to post, comment on Toyo's card and what you like/dislike about it, regarding its design and whatnot.

(I'm helping Zex with the current template he made for Pendulums, so should update his version with the Xyz one later)

And like I promised Toyo, this gets the well-deserved move back to Advanced; although the rulings are iffy on whether it retains its Xyz Materials upon moving to the P-Zone.

I think the materials get detached if it isn't for the text. So like, if it's moved there by anything other than its own effect, it loses the mats. That's how i think it works anyway.

Also, bumperino rino.
