yuukenshi Luster Pendulum/Dragoknight Luster Pendulum
Attribute: LIGHT
Level: **** (4)
Type: Dragon/Pendulum/Tuner/Effect
Pendulum Scale: 5
ATK: 1850
DEF: 0
Text: Pendulum Effect: (1) Once per turn, if you control a card in your other Pendulum Zone: you can destroy that card, and if you do, add 1 card with the same name from your Deck to your hand.
Monster Effect: This card cannot be used as a Fusion, Synchro or Xyz Material, except for a “Dragoknight” monster.

I knew it was coming. Monster Effect Negation opens this card's Sync range fully the same way it does Quickdraw's. So... Necroz of Unicore + This.

So... These are going the route of early Fire FistsFirestars?

And by this, I mean it's Extra Deck monsters that go into other Extra Deck monsters of different kinds.

(Since, you know, Horse Prince and Lion Emperor can make eachother through the same 1 Tuner)

Probably. The same can also be said for Burning Abyss.

You mean not at all?

I have to admit, when I opened this topic, I expected another Normal Pendulum. What a pleasant surprise.

That boss monster is crazy, and I bet Sephira will have fun with it too.

Org says they're related to the Igknights which explains their names, archetypally and individually. Sound like they will be interesting, but better than Igknights?

Yeah, that's what they're saying, but unless that info is included in the yet untranslated text accompanying those cards in the official site, it's not confirmed yet.

Also, their original name is in Japanese - Ryuukenshi (literally meaning Dragon Swordsman).

But I digress; their design and effects look pretty cool, I can't wait for more of them!

Heh, someone needs to recode Quickdraw on YGOPro, then. I've been abusing that for weeks.

Dante and Virgil don't provide more fodder for other Summons, just methods to keep triggering the monsters.
Horse puts more monsters on the field/provides fodder for Spirit/etc. Lion lets you recycle Spirit, who in turn, can play either of them.
See what I mean?

Thoughts about Luster in Qliphort? It allows you to use multiple Scouts per turn, as well as having a Scale of 5, meaning it can Pendulum Summon pretty much all of the Qliphorts.

Trampolynx is already a thing. I doubt this is going to be any more helpful.

I see these being played with a bunch of Synchro Normal Beaters and the now 1-of Skill Drain.

... OR it could just be used in decks that already used pendulums and not try to abuse rulings in a way that doesn't work.

I mean, think about it. Luster Pendulum lets you give decks like P-Pals or Magicians a huge boost (as a scale/monsterfor the former, monster for the latter) by making Ignister easily. And Ignister is... Ignister's amazing. Not only is it a pseudo-Karakuri Synchro, it's also a spin. In the former deck's example, that even synergizes with Supply Squad.

And that's just an undermeta deck and a deck with more original support incoming immediately/in its structure. It has logical long term implications, considering the quality of both Luster and Ignister.

I've been wondering, what if each Extra Deck Dragoknight monster released from now on turns out to be the result of its Main Deck counterpart gaining the powers of a new Pendulum archetype introduced in the same set as them, as well as sharing their Attribute? Since Ignister visually resembles the Igknights and happens to be a FIRE monster just like them.
