ihop
Honestly I think this card is pushing the borders of being banworthy again. It's good against basically every matchup, even the ones you wouldn't expect it to be as good in such as Shaddoll and BA, and it's a complete game-changer in certain situations and against certain decks. It sucks in the Nekroz mirror if there's no Djinn Lock but even then it's a Djinn out so probably worth playing/keeping in.
CLG Klavier
Once again, I said it as soon as it got unbanned: that it will be as fucking relevant as ever. Meanwhile people went "Nooo, too many floaters in the format, it sucks against BA/Shaddolls/whatever". Yeah, right. Just ban it and keep Dark Hole @2, it's not as snowbally since you can't boardwipe while having a field.
darkwolf777
wut, Raigeki is limited? Who at Konami thought that was a good idea to bring this back? Although you can literally summon a billion monsters in a single turn in yugioh, it generally takes a few cards to do so. Having a single card to completely cancel all that, or in the other extreme, cause someone who's losing to lose more with no cost other than to play the card is not a good card to keep around. I don't really know the current state of the game, I don't imagine the power creep stopped at all and cards are more broken than ever, but a card like Raigeki doesn't get any less powerful until a meta occurs where winning the game stops revolving around having monsters being on the field. Not-so-Radiant Arin
Thank you, YuGiOh, for reminding me of the reason I left and stopped playing this game all those many months ago. Konami I guess wanted to be more experimental with their format, seeing as how Dark Hole was bordering the "okay" status, because it was either being telegraphed too much or there was just so many outs to Dark Hole anyway that it didn't matter. So they decided to up the ante.
darkwolf777
Maybe, but Dark Hole can be detrimental to yourself, so you wouldn't play Dark Hole unless you really needed to, or to come back when you had no monsters. If they really wanted to test the waters, should've just put Dark Hole at 2 and left Raigeki at 0.
Expelsword
"When's 3 Dark Hole?" is the real question.
Progenitor
I honestly don't care. At least it's not snatch steal. That card legit made me salty. Granted the Topdeck Raigeki is still a thing, but if you really analyze the situation, 7/10 times dark hole would have done the same exact thing since, if your opponent has any common sense, they will only drop raigeki in 3 situations: Clearing your field for a comeback Getting rid of your field to make a play Pushing for game In situations 1 and 2, you generally have a blank/useless field anyway, so the only real advantage to raigeki is that you can end games with it by just saying "how about no" to their established field. Except for that 3rd situation it's about the same as Dark Hole. Granted that 3rd situation is not irrelevant in the slightest, but still. I honestly don't care if it stays or goes. Honestly having a powerful card like that in existence should, over time, establish the same paranoia in players as Heavy Storm. You don't want to use ALL your resources if you don't need to, and always have a backup plan.
Sleepy
Maybe, but Dark Hole can be detrimental to yourself, so you wouldn't play Dark Hole unless you really needed to, or to come back when you had no monsters. If they really wanted to test the waters, should've just put Dark Hole at 2 and left Raigeki at 0. Dark Hole also did go to 2, and that's where it is currently at. But there WERE too many floaters in the format at the time this card's unbanning was announced, and it did become a staple in pretty much every deck but it was mostly a temporary wipe that the average deck could always bounce back from. What happens is that ever since that time, the format has been changing. You see how decks like Nekroz and HERO don't float, but during its time there weren't really any relevant non-floating decks, among other details like how 101 was a thing and Castell probably not yet. I'm not defending Raigeki as a card, it is a pretty insane card on itself. I'm just saying the game had differences that Konami has been moving away from. Post Nekroz it started being an out to locks, too. So the increase in impact was most likely something planned. Also remember how Mirror Force was pretty irrelevant before this format? It isn't "Mirror Force was this great all along and everyone just stopped playing it because they somehow forgot it". It kind of shows as an extra proof that the format is not quite like it was. So no, the ones that talked that way about Raigeki's impact weren't all that wrong, but now the game turned a new page, sort of speak.
