GarlandChaos
So, the other day, I came up with a silly little hypothetical ruling thing. It regards different tribute summoning requirements for different level monsters. It goes a little something like this: *Level 1&2: -1 Tribute(Can normal summon another monster of either of these levels if the previous normal summoned monster was either of them.)*Level 3&4: No tributes.*Level 5&6: 1 Tribute.*Level 7&8: 2 Tributes.*Level 9&10 (Not really a Normal Summoning thing yet.): 3 Tributes.*Level 11&12 (See above.): 4 Tributes. Woloa
I like this. Can we start running our games like this? I kinda wanna try and find some people on DN willing to play with this.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
In terms of the Level 1 and 2 one, that would essentially lead to R1/R2 spam in a single turn (not like they're incapable of already doing it as is).Might help to speed up lower Level Decks or something, but I don't know. 3-8 are the same as what we already do right now, so no changes there. Level 11/12 aren't a thing yet; at least in terms of ones that don't have Nomi conditions. If they existed, it'd take a rather large amount of effort to summon them under these new requirements; and certainly a long time to recover if opponent decides to BTH it. 9/10 would fit in the theme with the God cards and stuff (I recall some of the older games required 3 Tributes for Level 9+ anyway, sans the Gods), so no problems there. -----Although it'll be interesting to see how games turn out with these new rules. 宇佐見 蓮子@C94
The game wouldn't turn out any different. If anything this'll only benefit Cain Abel lock decks and R2 Spam decks with Dorklord + Socuteboss, but even then you're still -2ing yourself in the process. The big issue here is that none of the currently competitive decks are actually affected by this at all and instead only serves to make some playstyles unplayable. Tl;Dr R4 Spam still unaffected, gg wp.
Airride
Just some examples of why the 1-2 rule probably wouldn't work (even if it uses up the hand)>Summon Ritual Beat Tamer Elder and Lara/2 Lara, get out 2 fusions in 1 turn (which, mind you, can be extremly powerful, and with rampengu, you can still swap them out once that turn)>Raccoons, specifically, Ponpoko. Say what you will, but getting out a R2 AND setting up for next turn isn't anything to scoff at.>Dark Bug and similar still work>Obligitory Deep Sea Diva Mention, even though it's at 1. This includes others like it, which are especially powerful, because...turn 1 things.>Infernities can empty their hand faster (Hypothetically) and can also use 2 Mirages if they have them. This is specifically mentioned becuase...Well, infernities.>Kynka-Byo. Also given specific Mention because Who DOESN'T like being able to spam the everloving hell out of Rank 1s? AND HAVE IT REUSABLE??? (You can make a rank 1 with the things they summon, then pop both back to hand at End Phase)>Frog Mention Goes here>Obligatory almost-OTK Mention with Summoning Cat Shark and Daigusto Pheonix for a 3k Double attacker I dunno. Anythign that gives a lot of free summons is always iffy. The level 9-10 thing doesn't change much, outside of niche cases such as Big Whale, Earthbound Immortals, and uh...Moisture creature, I guess? Oh, and The Tyrant Neptune. He becomes so much worse/better. Both. At the same time.
