A Remade Card ^^,

I've never been a fan of Yugioh, but I always liked this card. Magician's Valkyria used to be my favorite back in the years, along with Dark Magician Girl of course. I liked her very much due to her beauty and effect,  but I was always upset about her ATK points, so I changed it a bit. This is how I think it should be, and I wish the creators could have done the same thing.

Well, you made her a Tribute monster now, so that cuts into her usability.

Yes, you can still SS it with Magical Dimension or something; however her being a Level 4 monster meant an easy monster when the situation requires it.

 

Here, you need to Tribute Summon (and yes, we do have cards that can help make it easier nowadays); but that's not the point.

 

Granted, 1600/1800 aren't the best stats for a Level 4 nowadays, but she's good for walling stuff.

At the time she was created, it was fine.

In short, you only pumped her up 500 ATK and 1 Level. Effect is the same.

Would've been fine if you only made her 1900 ATK and retained her Level 4 status; at least she can trade off with common drops without requiring extra effort to get out.

 

To be honest, you might've been better off doing a retrain of Valkyria, or even an evolutionary form.

 

1900/1800 stats on Level 4 isn't bad by common standards right now.

My first thought was actually to give her 1900 ATK, and keep the same level. Her effect is ok, so I don't mind it, but it would still make her weaker than Dark Magician Girl and their counterparts. Valkyria was even created after them, and newer monsters are supposed to be stronger, so giving her 1600 atk at the time she was created was a bad thing in my opinion. All her counterparts have an ATK at 2000+, so I think Valkyria's atk should be it too, I didn't want her to be the weakest.

Ok, I'm not particularly sure how it originally was your first attempt, but about the current one.

 

I see what you are going for, but I think you also cut down a few paths from here.

I suggest you don't make her a semi-nomi or nomi (special "must do" Special Summon clauses that prevent her from being Summoned by other effects).

In this case, You cannot use Magical Dimension, Dark Renewal, Magician's Circle, or Magical Examplar to Summon her before drawing into her. No Foolish Burial Combos and it even has 1 extra Level so Magical Examplar will need more Spell Counters to remove. She also lost her potential teching in those heal and burn Pikeru decks she was used in back in the day (not that they were too relevant, but they existed and didn't have too many Spellcasters to spare for her quick Summon).

 

Though at the same time, I'm not saying to erase her Special Summoning ability altogether either. More like, change it to something like: 

You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by banishing 1 Spellcaster-Type monster from your hand, your side of the field, or your Graveyard.

 

and then you could change her ATK to 2000, because 100 less ATK in exchange for an extra way to Summon her from the Deck doesn't sound too bad (if you want to that is).

With that, the Level is fine IMO because you can tech "The Monarchs Stormforth" or "Soul Exchange" to use opponent's Tributes, and otherwise dedicated Spellcaster decks wouldn't have too much of a problem with paying the cost to skip the Tribute when they want to. Or actually, you could have her even go up 1 Level, which wouldn't increase her number of Tributes but would be an extra option for Sorcerer of Dark Magic's Summon.

 

Actually, with that Summon condition you might even be able to do funny stuff with the DNA Traps.
