ihop
Well, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The only problems of the format were Djinn lock and easy ability to make Trish, with both of these gone we have a diverse meta where one deck is not clearly above the rest. Awesome. Zauls
Yep, I agree, we're in for a great format. Lots of skillful mirror matches with BA and Shaddoll and lots more decks have a chance of doing well.
Ultravires
Nekroz is still undeniably the best deck. Djinn lock being gone means 4-5 extra spaces in the main for resource management or outing rogue decks. No longer do we have to main 4-5 hate cards to out the Djinn lock in the mirror. evilfusion
Forbidden:Djinn, Releaser of RitualsLavalval Chain Limited:Shurit, Strategist of the NekrozTrishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier Semi-Limited:Atlantean DragoonsDragon Ravine Unlimited:Glow-Up BulbSinister SerpentDark Strike FighterSacred Sword of Seven StarsTemple of the KingsExchange of the Spirit Well, guess it's that time to give my thoughts on these. Banned Djinn, Releaser - Okay, I love this card purely because I'd use it in Relinquished Decks, which would help cover Relinquished's weakness of being able to die in battle the second time. No SSing = unlikely you'll have two monsters out to run over Relinquished. Bad application aside, it deserved it. Tour Guide can search it for Xyz, and Nekroz are evil with it. Lavalval Chain - I do feel this card deserved it just because it's so good in so many things. Also glad I never ended up getting one for my Heraldics or something. Limited Shurit - I have no idea what this is, other than it's a Nekroz, so...it probably deserved it? Trishula (Ice Barrier) - Oh sheet. I see the price skyrocketing, and I was just getting to the point where I wanted to buy one because I like it. It's not a particularly fair card, but it's a very cool Synchro with solid investment required for Decks that aren't Infernity. Semi Atlantean Dragoons - Okay.Dragon Ravine - Okay. Unlimited Glow-Up Bulb - SureSinister Serpent - SureDark Strike Fighter - Sure.Temple of the Kings - Sure.Sacred Sword of Seven Stars - Rulers are dead, this is fine.Exchange of the Spirit - Don't care. Dog King
i was hoping for like all of the abyss rulers and like shadolls or someone to be banned so i would have less decks to learn :(
SANDAA BORUTO
Forbidden:Djinn, Releaser of Rituals(Good riddance, well deserved ban)Lavalval Chain(Broken card is broken. Good move.) Limited:Shurit, Strategist of the Nekroz(Of all Nekroz cards to hit, they hit the least relevant one? WTF Konami?)Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier(YES!! YES!!! A MILLION TIMES YES!!!!) Semi-Limited:Atlantean Dragoons(Welcome back, Merlanteans. Thing is, they're too slow of a Deck for the current meta, so even at 3, Dragoons wouldn't matter much.)Dragon Ravine(Could go to 3 and Dragons would still suck because they only have 1 REDMD. But it's a nice boost to Dragunities.) Unlimited:Glow-Up Bulb(Why was this at 1? Glow-Up Bulb is either 0 or 3, no one will run more than 1 anyway!)Sinister Serpent(Card sucks, so should never ever get hit again.)Dark Strike Fighter(Fine at 3 from now on.)Sacred Sword of Seven Stars(With the D-Rulers gone, this card sucks now.)Temple of the Kings(Card is garbage now, so to 3)Exchange of the Spirit(No one will care about this one) Valkyrus/Unicore still at 3Of all Nekroz cards to hit, they hit SHURIT Konami, your stupidity knows no bounds. Darj
I was hoping for Necloth Trishula to be hit if not outright banned, only to see Necloths adapt and try another approach with Valkyrus, and possibly Decisive Armor, as the next best bosses. Good to see Releaser gone. Synchro Trishula back to 1 is interesting. OCG has had it for a while, so I'm curious to see the differences on its impact compared with TCG. Regarding Lavalval Chain, I understand the ban, but a part of me wanted to see the performance of Clownblade in TCG before it was hit in one way or another. Granted, they most likely will be able to do things, but the loss of Chain should surely hurt. I don't mind nor care for the rest of the hits. More Dragoons and Ravine should helpe Atlanteans/Mermails, Dragunity and other decks, but I'm not really interested in them.
The Warden
I wonder if Dragoons moving to 2 means we will soon be getting Neptabyss, or if they'll avoiding adding it to the TCG for a while.
Neutrality Man
Still waiting on that Macro Cosmos / D-Fissure return to 2. I see Nekroz is killing even more of the Ritual Mechanic's generic toys. How about we just Semi and/or Limit their 3 mirrors (Mirror, Cycle, and Kaliedoscope) and call it a f***ing day? Expelsword
Still waiting on that Macro Cosmos / D-Fissure return to 2. It completely destroys too many decks to get a boost.

Neutrality Man
More specifically: Semi Mirror and Cycle, Limit Kaleidoscope. They have recycling capabilities don't they? I'm fairly certain the Deck can survive with 5/9 Ritual Spells

I'm fairly certain the Deck can survive with 5/9 Ritual Spells People don't play more than 2 Mirror or Cycle anyway and a Kaleidoscope limit wouldn't hurt the deck nearly enough. The ideal hit to Nekroz would have been to limit Uniore, but limiting Shurit means the deck is still really good but not stupid.

Wildflame
Damn, I had a little hope that Releaser would avoid the ban..., goodbye to my Northwemko and Sapphira decks. Rest of the list is..., underwhelming. Shurit is a softer hit than what Nekroz needed. Trishula is a really really stupid idea, but I love it anyways. My favorite move is probably Dragoons to 2, though.
