You can only use this effect of "Ancient Gear Box" once per turn. So, the main thing I want to discuss about this card's interesting applications is the tech I've been using in desbots. http://i.imgur.com/8gwDqFQ.png geargiauger > geargiaccelerator > Gear Gigant > search Ancient gear Box > Ancient gear box searches ANY deskbot desireble and is great Phoenix wind wing blast fodder Because I've always really liked this card, and seeing as it can now search the deskbot pendulums/ set you up really nicely like this, I wanted to discuss its usability in deskbots because of the auger and accelerator tech. The issue with Box is the fact it's literally a useless card outside of the Deck. Meaning if you Draw into/Mill/etc the card, then you've lost your chance to do somethig with it. I mean, Gigant X can trigger it on the fly, because This card goes off when added to the hand from the Deck/Graveyard, but the point still remains. Also, This card is pretty hilarious for Machina Fortress fodder as well, seeing as how adding it gives you 4/8 Levels for Fortress' revival effect, to which will then go and likely add another 3-4 Levels to your hand for whatever it searches. Though, I think the question for This card, by the end of the day, is this; Why is it an Ancient Gear card, when it honestly has no real business being in the set, outside of it's name? I'd been running it since 003 and found it to be probably the best turn 1 play for the deck to help set up for the rest of the deck. It also provides good deck thinning and, as you said, makes decent hand fodder. Of course, it also bricks hard when drawn, so there needs to be some balance in numbers. Drawing or it being dead in your hand in general is why I decided to run 2 PWWB because being able to search the pendulum scales off of gear gigant is some really good value.Idk why it's an ancient gear, I guess it just leaves more options for Konami in the future, seeing as all the grunts in arc v seem to use ancient gear cards. Does anyone know a use inside AGs for this?The geargiauger into gear gigant is the most efficient combo with this and it's only really good for other decks. Ancient Gear Cannon isn't worth dedicating a searcher for and there are far better applications outside the archetype. I've never really known what Deskbots do, but I did once try to make a silly little OTK deck around UAGG using Box as the method of obtaining Fusion Materials. It was pretty fun. It's synergy with Geargiauger and Gear Gigant X mean it has potential, but it is still limited by the issues that have already been stated.
