Robot Sexuality

Yay people can lower their morals even further.

How is this morally wrong in any way?

I don't really agree with this. Though people can do what they want it just seems wrong. Then again I'm not really one for giving machines enough self awareness that they could pass for humans. While it could help cut down on certain things by replacing real humans for things like sex and such, it still doesn't change the fact the person would have the capacity to go after real people if they get bored of the robot.

It all really comes down to how much self control humans can have when designing the AI. If they make it to self aware it could always end up like it does in movies, the AI trying to kill us all, seeing us as a flawed spieces or just wants to control us instead of the other way around.

Why do you disagree with it? A sex robot would allow them to vent their desires to an extent where they would not lose self control or turn to stupid acts.

Well, we are a pretty damn shitty species. On the other hand, if a robot was smart enough, it'd realize there were some decent ones mixed among us.

On the main topic, it sounds exciting, but scary - what if it malfunctions during "operation"? :D

As in practical sense, a robot can never fully emulate a human, even in something as "mundane" as sex. You have to design a damn good doppelganger, if it were to be any good in it, plus it cannot stimulate quite a few senses - it cannot have a humanly smell, or taste, it cannot secrete those pheromones / hormones that are at the core of sexuality and sex-appeal most of the time.

People fear machines malfunctioning, such as airplanes crashing, but you are far, far, far more likely to get into a car crash or even a train accident than a plane accident.

And who says a robot can't? It should be completely possible to add "living" parts to a robot.

Be careful with spam and one-liners, guys.

...Guess I was being too vague with my post.

It was from the episode of Futurama 'I Dated a Robot'.

You know... The one where they made all those Lucy LiuBots that everyone wanted to make out with, that eventually took over?

itt metropolis the chase suite

If the AI is sentient, then using it the same way you would use a dildo or a fleshlight would be immoral.

If it's programmed to ACT like a person for sex, and that's the extent of its capabilites, then it isn't much more than an advanced body pillow/sex toy. It's possibly it may not be "healthy" but it's not harmful.

As to the pedophilia thing. The main reason pedophilia is illegal is because children's brains are developing and because of that, it's logically easier to take advantage of that to make a child consent, since they don't completely understand. A robot made to look like a child or act like a child but that isn't sentient isn't really a problem because of just that: the robot isn't sentient. It's why you can go online right now and buy an onahole made to resemble a shota or loli's rear end (though I wouldn't suggest looking it up lol). As someone noted before, it could also possibly stop someone from exercising pedophilic tendencies on an actual person, which is arguably exemplified by Japan currently.

Though if you all would prefer, we can always just make this a boring world where even the concept of dirty jokes don't exist. That would be moral.

Probably just something to do with my upbringing and it just doesn't sit right with me.Though I couldn't care less about it actually happening. I'll support anyone who wants it if I know them if I'm still alive when it happens. Just really personally I don't agree with it, there is nothing wrong with it or a proper reason.

Why the f*** do you guys care about what other people want to shove their dick or get shoved up their vagina? As long as it isn't a real life animal, blood relative, or cactus, I think that there shouldn't be a problem. My collection of dildos is probably in the amount more than I honestly need, and there are a lot of people who make their hand fall asleep just to pretend someone else is giving them a hand job. Whatever gets you off, do it as long as it isn't harming others or the parties involved are consenting and are of proper age.

And no, this will not lower human interaction, but develop human sexuality on a whole new spectrum, so great. And if people find love with their robot, who the f*** cares. Finally there won't be so many loners who shelter themselves from the world, without proper hand to hand interaction. It just won't be with a person, but at least people will have other means of interacting with the world, and not feel so alone in it.

This is a really weird thread, but this is the best post in it.

i would never put my stick into a machine

what if it broke while doing it and the gap closed or something

oh god

im quite sure that they would figure out a way to prevent that from happening, like i dont think that people would sell something if it could break off your downstairs area that easily.

This is true, though it is a concern I didn't think about right away. Safety measures would have to be very very carefully taken. Because not just in that specific area but I could see a lot of technical issues. And even one malfunction could be...quite bad.

I have no doubt in my mind that this will become a thing at some point in the future.

And if anyone's seen the movie Her, I think that's another accurate representation of how our future will probably turn out. People will pair up with advanced AI and advocate for social rights much like LGBTQ movements have been doing today.
