Retaliating ''C''

RetaliatingC-CORE-EN-SP-1E.png

During either player's turn, when your opponent activates a Spell Card that includes an effect that Special Summons a monster(s): You can Special Summon this card from your hand. If Summoned this way, while this card is face-up on the field, any card sent to the Graveyard is banished instead. If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can add 1 EARTH Insect-Type monster with 1500 or less ATK from your Deck to your hand, except "Retaliating "C"".

With CORE around, let's talk about this card that makes infernoids instantly scoop that looks to be quite nice looking at the current meta.

So, how much damage do this do against Nekroz and Dolls, actually?

Discuss.

Admittedly, it's really bad for Infernoids, but unless you want to main Dragged Down into the Grave or side out your Reasonings for Needlebug Nest, you just have to roll with it.

I mean, the odds your opponent has it in their opening hand (when it does the most) are not insurmountable.

Once it's out it's very easy to deal with, but it's certainly a nasty surprise to most decks.

Use it with Naturia Sacred Tree

Or Insect Imitation, Multiplication of Ants, for a Tribute or Synchro Summon... really, this card is pretty versatile in an Insect-Type deck, along with Resonance Insect. They work nicely together as this can search your weaker stuff while Resonance Insect searches your higher levels.

Anyway, it seems quite cool against Fusion and Ritual decks, forcing them to banish the cards from their hand.

Konami really want Shaddolls to die without actually hitting them. First Diamond, then Ptolemaus so any deck can make Diamond, now this. It does about the same damage to Shaddolls as Majesty's Fiend, because you have to use a Fusion Spell without resolving any effects. If anything it's better since the Fusion Spell is also banished and it can be chained. As for Nekroz, it's good against Kaleidoscope but it doesn't do enough for it to be worth siding it against them.

"any card sent to the Graveyard is banished instead."

i guess...? i mean they need the grave. you could just play w/out ssing to get around the no triggers thing... i guess... it probably would be a bad idea though

Read the first bit.
