I read that scientifically, hair doesn't grow faster when it is shaved. Its just a misconception. cutting the hair will not speed up its cell growth or change the pattern in the DNA

Logically just cutting hair wouldn't change the growth rate embedded in the DNA coding in your hair follicle's cells. (Yeah I just restated it for no reason)

you think its thicker but you just think that it looks darker. When hair is darker it appears to be thicker (I think). And perception of time is always iffy

Anyway that would be interesting...perhaps I need to try and shave just the lighter colored areas and even it out XD

You perceive this as a increase in darkness and thickness. Neither has actually happened, but that's the illusion.

I will say about it though. Since we shave/don't shave partially for apperance, the illusion is in a way the reality. I'm not sure how to explain what I mean.

I actually recommend plucking facial hair sometime.  It may be painful, but if you've had problems with ingrown hairs and such, it clears the pores and allows the hair to grow in healthy after that.  I especially recommend it after laser hair removal.

In my own scenario, my hair is particularly thick. It's horrible now but will end up being the best thing ever, because I have such luscious and thick hair that it's insane. The tradeoff is the constant shaving of my body, but I don't mind a few cuts for that feeling. It helps my very fair/pale skin look a lot better, too.

 

When it's all gone after a lot more suffering then it'll just be on my scalp and I'll be beautiful.

I always shave hair on my chin even though it's only a couple of hairs. I leave my mustache alone since it doesn't seem to grow any longer. I also get rid of side burns. Since I am a bit hairy it does make me self conscience, although the body hair I grow on my arms and legs are only about 1 centimeter long, I leave them alone.

I'm a little frustrated right now. There's this patch on my right side no bigger than a dime, but it's very noticeable amongst 5 o'clock shadow. So I have to shave every few days to make sure it doesn't look awkward.

I don't think I'm gonna try growing anything until I'm further into adulthood anyways, but it'd be nice to have more days break in between.

 

Never really trimmed my body hair, though I have plenty of it from my Italian genes.
