[ANIME] Raidraptor - Lock Chain

Once per turn, if a monster(s) with an ATK higher than the total ATK of all "Raidraptor" monsters you control is Special Summoned to your opponent's side of the field: You can target 1 of those monsters; change that target's battle position.

-----

Not overly familiar with RRs, but looking at it, unless you have a lot of small monsters, won't do too much.

(Although the Xyz kind of have low ATK to begin with, so I suppose this might have some use; I may be wrong though)

This should be the last of the new anime stuff.

Discuss.

That's what I thought; you'll have multiple monsters out, so unless you're up against something really large and/or don't have a lot of RRs out, card won't see much use.

Worked in the episode because 4500 ATK monster on the other end, but that's the anime (and situation is different there).

Again though, I am not overly familiar with how RRs go (and saying this on usage nowadays, given support)

RRs tend to be on the low-ATK side of the game and this card makes perfect use of that.

Even if multiple RRs are out (like when has that ever happened?) i think it won't be a problem, because:

  • they have gradually low ATK (1800 is the highest of the main deck ones and 2000 among those in the Extra Deck)
  • even if you have more that 1 RR, supposedly you would use them as xyz materials:  Example - Vanishing + Fuzzy + Singing = 2000.
  • meant to protect your RR Xyz which all have low ATK and/or non-Xyz that you did not manage to overlay in time.
  • basically everyone's ace in Arc-V is at 2500 or higher, aside Yuzi and Shun, so this card's use is justified.

I honestly cant see the merit of running a card like this over any other backrow answer cards. Like, what's even the point of it.

What's the merit of any anime card? They are made to work in that specific moment in time in a duel and are never seen again ever, most of the time... and disappear into obscurity or are released with a remodeled effect.
