Shiranui Style: Sword of Swallow (907)

Recommended Posts

Coherence?

Something to tie them all together. Right now the Shiranui's thing appears to be banishing, as shown by this card and their tuner. They just need a bit more adhesion to tie them together, beyond the search effect of Swordsmith or the Wolfbark effect of Chief Priest.

Also the fact that level 2 is funking awful

That said, even with this, the deck needs Lavalval Chain to function, and at this point it still just looks like an extension of the Reptile engine for Zombies, which leaves them up a creek.

That is true Black. Zombies were hit hard with the loss of Chain. Uni-Zombie is at least there to help them out, but it just isn't the same. Granted, the 2 isn't horrifically bad, considering it's the easiest way to summon Archfiend Zombie-Skull, who is at least a pretty decent synchro all things considered.

Uni-Zombie actually does the job quite well here, it makes them able to make Level 8s quite easily, can ditch card from both hand and Deck for various purposes. Plus, Foolish Burial can still be used, and zombies have many searchers anyway.

Congratulations, you have to draw 1 of 4 cards, as opposed to being able to do it with most any hand

Uni-Zombie is needed for Zombies, as a whole, in ADDITION to Lavalval, not as a replacement. Chain's ban makes the deck not function fluidly at all, unless it gets its own themed Foolish/Double Foolish, but that would still only help putting Shiranui in grave and seems unlikely as hell.

What's with the attitude? If you want me to respect your opinion, don't give me that attitude please, all it will do is make me angry.

I presented a point.

You presented a counterpoint that did not discredit my point and used poor logic by comparing Uni-Zombie to Lavalval, and then explained afterwards.

Please don't spam.

Don't do this guys.

Attitude can't be expressed over the internet.  Don't assume anyone means anything other than exactly what's written.

Black answered your question with a valid point.  He did not insult your intelligence directly at all Zaz.  If you're insulted by his "attitude", then I'm sorry that's you're fault for interpreting his message as such.

Now back to business.  Card is...good, but it's a bit situational.  Currently the only Shiranui that you'd just want to banish out of nowhere is High Priest, and that means you'll be nuking 3 cards...for no real field advantage, ESPECIALLY considering (barring Zombie Master, Call of the mummy, Book of life, etc) this will most likely eat either your normal summon or a valuable combo piece.  Zombies need to make use of every single monster they have currently since they have very limited ways of field flooding without Chain.

Though the fact that you can use this on Goblin Zombie to pop 2 (3 if you send High Priest) and get a search is pretty cool.

Out of curiosity, is the "Then Banish 1 Archetype guy from your Deck" bit similar to Scrapstorm, in the sense that it wont matter if you can do it or not, and will only let you do it if it's possible?

Asking becuase This card would be really damn funny if you could use it outside of it's Archetype.

Based on the wording we have so far, that would be correct, it doesn't say "you can" at any point, so you must be able to do so to activate the card.
