Darj
2 Level 4 monstersIf this card is on the field is destroyed by battle or an opponent’s card effect: You can Special Summon 1 "Meteor B. Dragon" from your Extra Deck.Once per turn, during either player's turn, you can activate 1 of these effects.• When this card is targeted for an attack: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the attack.• When a card or effect is activated that targets this card: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the activation. So... I may be stepping on a slippery slope with this one, which is why I would appreciate feedback.Basically, as pointed out in the title, this is a generic Rank4 Dragon-Type with a built-in defensive effect designed to be a target for Dragon's Bind. It should be a safer option than Rebellion Dragon at least. Then, the floating effect and stats are just to spice the card up and maybe add a bit of nostalgia on it. Meteor B. Dragon is a rather forgettable card because it reached TCG way too late, and this card is an attempt at raising awareness on it.2400/2000 stats is a reference to Red-Eyes B. Dragon, a fusion material for Meteor B. Dragon; and this is a bit of an stretch but also Darkblaze Dragon: Both are FIRE/Dragon, have "Blaze" in their names, and Darkblaze's stats become 2400/2000 with its own effect. Thoughts? Sleepy
The last effect I'd personally move it to the top to have the bullet points strictly be the bottom rather than in the middle of the sandwich. Other than that I think its protection is compatible to that of Stardust Spark Dragon, only it just works with itself and has lower ATK, but it is more generic and floats into a 3500 ATK monster. I don't like encouraging of locks, but the card itself is not the issue, and even when I do think of the lock, it is either a 2400 protected target or a 3500 vanilla one so it demands some judgment as to which of them to use it on. Overall it is a good card, I like it.
Dragulas
As you said about the floating effect, even if its nostalgia i dont think is necessary either. The card by itself by being a generic rank 4 is already good (i will make a spot in the extra deck if this was real). But instead i would put a OPT on the name and use 2 materials for the targeting negation (i think its more fair that way) this just my opinion, so the effect could be something like: 2 Level 4 monstersWhen this card is targeted for an attack: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the attack.During either player's turn, when a card or effect that target exactly this 1 card (and no other cards) is activated: You can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card; negate the activation. You can only use 1 "Meteor Blaze Dragon" effect per turn and only once that turn. I know that the floating is for nostalgia and i dont think many players can afford a Meteor B. Dragon in the extra deck either, for me its cool if you keep it, i just think that a generic rank 4 that can protect itself and floats on a 3500 monster its way too good, even if it doesnt have an effect. Very cool and interesting card i like it. But i dont like that is designed for a lock, thats why i restrict the effects a bit
Darj
Thank you for your comments. The last effect I'd personally move it to the top to have the bullet points strictly be the bottom rather than in the middle of the sandwich. I had put it at the end because floating effects are usually listed after Ignition or Quick Effects, but it's true that it looks awkward after the bullet effects, so I will take your suggestion. Besides, I found another card that has the floating effect at the beginning and coincidentally also includes bullet effects: "Naturia Sacred Tree". The issue I see with this card is that Dragon's Bind exists; otherwise I feel a 2400-ATK monster with built-in protection that floats into a 3500-ATK beater at the cost of 1 Extra Deck space wouldn't be that big of a deal. I will consider the suggestions given.
