Father whose autistic son was shot dead by cops 'had his hands up' before they opened fire

It's tragic that this happened, but hopefully, the two charged with murder will answer for what they did.

I also want to point out that not all cops are bad.

Clearly you don't live in the south lol. Most of them here are either bastards, racist bastards, aggressive bastards, or bastards that don't value life

Does Florida count? Because I have yet to encounter a cop like that over here. And I have encountered cops before.

But, if you don't mind me asking, where do you live where the cops are so bad?

Tennessee.

Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi is just awful

I've lived in Iowa, Minnesota, and Texas, no where have I seen this level of disregard for fellows humans than in this little collection of states

Are we still talking cops or just people in general?

Cops...I've seen cops beat an old man maybe double their age. It's honestly disgusting. Legit afraid to call the cops even when I might need help cause who knows who'll they arrest or mess up around here.

The only reason nobody is making a fuss about this is cause it's two black cops who shot a white family, but they're all bad round these parts

Something like that is disgusting. I can see why. You're likely not alone on this.

I would imagine it depends on where you live, though. I do think the south is pretty bad, mind you. Not specifically referring to cops on that, though.

Given the circumstances here (and based on the evidence), the cops in question will likely have to answer to what they did.

What they did was indeed inexcusable, and the kid didn't deserve to die the way he did.

Hopefully they are found guilty; so far, that video proves them to be such.

While I'd like to say that law enforcement in Hawai'i is less shitty than on the mainland (well, no racial cases so far), we also have our fair share of bad officers.

One of them kicked a guy in the face during a game room sweep a couple years back (well, he also threw something at said guy as well).

Pretty much out of rage because he couldn't find something.

Another one beat up his girlfriend outside a restaurant a couple miles from where I live; he got let off because she was the one who provoked him, but I think they're still doing an internal investigation on him.

There are cops who actually do their job (shown from a few other threads lately), but it's stuff like this event that makes you wonder why a few of them are on the force in the first place. Although yes, it likely depends on where you live though; I'm probably just fortunate that we don't get hate crimes down there (likely due to having a good ethnic diversity), though I might be wrong on this. So far, don't think we have had any.

California is pretty bad too. Not just the LAPD but the county sheriff is as well. They aren't as regulated and were under investigation for corruption and trying to cover up a federal operation. I remember when I was 7 and the cops pulled over my parents. Now that I look back the officer crossed the line. I remember a while ago a cop shot a guy who was holding a cell phone, and was never charged. It led to a week long protest. The mentally ill and homeless are especially prone to police brutality over here.

You know, there's something I've had on my mind since yesterday; We've had many cases of bad cops, but one thing I have noticed; it's almost always local law enforcement like city and county. It's hardly ever state law enforcement, at least news wise. I could be completely wrong and the state agencies have as many problems and bad cops as local, or it could mean that state agencies actually have their act together to an extent. I mean, in this case, it was the Louisiana State Police who arrested two of the officers involved in this, after all.

Unfortunately, there's really no way to tell because data on this is limited. For all we know, some hidden stuff could be going on within the state agencies that we don't know about.

It's because state law enforcement has higher standards. I mean here in Texas, State Troopers are from what I've seen model cops while local officers won't turn away from a bribe.
