You can Normal Summon this card without Tributing, but its original ATK is halved and its Level becomes 3. Once per turn: You can declare 1 Monster Type; if this card is used as a Synchro Material Monster this turn, treat this card and the other Synchro Material Monsters as that Monster Type for that Synchro Summon. If you activate this effect, you cannot Normal or Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except monsters with the declared Monster Type.

1) Instant Fusion+This=Baxia

have a free Spin 2

Also the key here is REST of the turn.

Of course you can. Cards don't live in a void, effects change with new targets to interact with.

Neither do strings of code in a program, but they mess. Up if they try to call a variabe that wasn't there when they were written because it isn't in their "memory".

But in all seriousness, is this card really worth teching in for Baxia? It's unsearchable and takes a Normal Summon just for targeting removal that's really easily stopped.

What actually happens here is that you play a low impact tuner monster in your deck, use Instant Fusion to not summon Norden, and then spin 0 cards off of Baxia

The only time the addition of new Types/Attributes/terms affected existing cards is with the term "Fusion Deck". Most cards that solely interacted with the (then) Fusion Deck were eventually errata'd to only work on Fusion Monsters from the Extra Deck. When Divine and Divine Beast was added to official cards, any card that allowed you to declare a Type/Attribute allowed you to choose Divine and Divine Beast. The same would be true for Wyrm.

But byak is right, this wouldn't work with Baxia, because Genomix only alters the Type for the purpose of the Summon Condition. Baxia checks the Type when they're in the Graveyard, and they're no longer Wyrms in the Graveyard, so Baxia ignores their Attribute.

The whole "it wouldn't know Wyrm existed" thing was a joke.

Even if this did work, again, it's hardly worth it because it requires running bad cards to do something easily counterred.
