Helps exodia more than i like 

What do you suggest that Enguin do to fix the card then (so it won't fuel Exodia)?

 

But as Gadjiltron already mentioned, any draw card that is not Archetype-specific or something along those lines fuels Exodia decks more than needed. It's basically a OPT Pot of Greed with a forced Spell Card banish (if any); I'd agree that switching the effect around so the Spell banish is a COST is the way to go here.

 

Though, I suppose this is one way to slowly reintroduce Pot of Greed back into the game, although pretty certain that some people may still have issues with it returning (if ever).

What happens if you have no Spell Card to banish? Maybe you can flip this effect around, to the likes of: Banish 1 Spell Card from your hand; draw 2 cards. You can only activate 1 "Arcane Offering" per turn.

Ignoring Exodia... I think this is a pretty fair card once the wording is flipped.  It is a -2 for a +2.

You cannot activate Arcane Offering if you have no Spell Cards in your hand. There is no problem here. Banishing for cost would be an overall nerf to the card that isn't really necessary.

 

Arcane Offering is most usually, unlike Trade-In, taking away live resources that cannot be recovered. A discarded monster could have been dead in the hand and may have more value in the Graveyard and/or be recovered/recycled in some way. A banished Spell will likely serve you no purpose and cannot be recovered, and was probably live in your hand in the first place. Not to mention many unsearchable Spells like IF result in advantage if you had rather used them instead. Arcane Offering may be a generic Trade-In that can be splashed into any Deck that runs a decent number of Spells, that is, most Decks that exist, but just because it is a generic Trade-In doesn't mean it will be as great as Trade-In in every Deck.

 

You will often be faced with a dilemma. Do you activate that Emergency Teleport, or banish it to get rid of the otherwise dead Arcane Offering in your hand? You are either betting it on 2 unknown draws or settling with a 4 or 5 card hand.

 

I'm not that familiar with the current meta Decks, but here are some, more specific examples: It's not great in Kozmo out of MST, Twin Twisters or Upstart, if they run them. It's okay in Monarchs if you banish filler Spells like Tenacity, or maybe a dead Stormforth, but they already have Pantheism and this works horribly with cards like Pantheism which float in the Graveyard.
