[SHOWERTHOUGHT] Do I support Donald Trump?

[spoiler=Wall of Text]As I write this I really have to confront my extremely conflicted feelings about Trump himself. I am a big fan of "Think Big and Kick Ass" and it was a motivational book during a down point of my life. It was written with brevity and power and I loved how he always stressed that failure is in the mindset, and that all people have the capabilities to do something extraordinary. When I heard his speech at C-PAC in 2012 I seriously considered him as a president, he was a lot less radical then. I enjoyed his brutal honesty and lack of political correctness. Now, when I hear his opinions and speeches, I am disheartened. It sort of reminds me of Mitt Romney's fall from grace. When Mitt Romney was Governor or Massachusetts, he was one of the most liberal Republicans in American history at that time, it was during this time he was heavily alienated from his own party but he stuck with them rather than go Democrat. When the 2008 election rolled around, Mitt changed a bit more Conservative, which wasn't a bad thing. What was a bad thing was in 2012 when he completely lost his sh*t and became extremely radical.

To try and find a central reason for this spark of insanity is near impossible. My theory is that Mitt had an obsession with winning, and couldn't stand losing during 2008. Donald Trump seems to echo these very aspects, but different to a degree. I have a friend who once talked to Donald Trump in person and heard him in an actual casual setting. Being an anarchist, Donald Trump was the opposite of an ideal person my friend would identify. Yet, my friend continually says that Trump was extremely kind and down to earth despite his billionaire status. He also, however, acknowledged that Trump was a HEAVY ball buster and his humor could range in the offensive territory, but he usually meant it all in good fun. I have always praised his support of Professional Wrestling and I feel he has done a lot of good for that industry through his downtime, along with his defense of WWE during the Chris Benoit incident. With this in mind, how can Trump sound so ridiculous and aggressive towards other people coming into this campaign?

The answer escaped me until I remembered that this actually happened before.

Richard Nixon ran on the same premise almost verbatim. At the time of his run for the president after Johnson, Nixon made it pretty clear he was going to be unhinged for his opinions and would not sugarcoat things. This caused him to elicit extreme controversy, and led to him becoming Hunter S. Thompson's mortal enemy. Despite this, he continued to talk of an American people who were sick and tired of the establishment playing a status quo and telling people how to feel and think. He spoke of a "Silent Majority", people who stayed silent despite their frustrations at the Vietnam War, JBL's Anti-Poverty Campaign, and general Progressive take over. This "Silent Majority" gimmick attracted loads of supporters, and he made waves across the race at breakneck pace. It completely flabbergasted journalists.

Nixon had many extremely radical plans when he was running that he never actually went through with after becoming president. The only really insane things he did was instituting Medicare and the Watergate Scandal. Other than that, his presidency was pretty moderate and many admire his policies towards establishing a larger global economy and easing Cold War tensions. This was almost contrary to how he ran, completely.

Why do I think Trump is running the same way? Because he even said it. He literally mentioned the "Silent Majority" in a recent speech. Not as a reference to Nixon, but as saying there was a new Silent Majority. He has operated his campaign almost exactly like Nixon's. Radical opinions bordering on fantasy, unhinged attitude and lack of self-censorship, and mentioning of the Silent Majority gimmick. Could this generally mean that Trump won't do 3/4 of the things he has said he would? Is it worth taking that risk by electing him? To me, it isn't.

Despite this, I do feel that people's worries of him aren't factual. With my theory I can't find myself believing he would actually push for the things he has said he would. With this in mind, I feel he would be more akin to his persona in 2012, Moderate with Conservative tendencies. I would still choose him over almost every candidate on the Republican ballot for that reason. I completely understand people feeling my theory is complete BS though. DO I think he could be a good president? Actually, yes. This, however, will not stop my 100% support of Bernie Sanders, not by a long shot.

Just me ranting endlessly. Not sure where I was going with it, but whatever.

This entire post sums up to, "I like Donald Trump because I read his book, or the book he hired a guy to write for him, either way the book was pretty cool, also my friend met him and he says he was pretty cool, and I like wrestling, he was somewhat connected to a wrestling network once, and I think that's pretty cool."

Well, my mother being a makeup artist for Fox News and Fox Business did his makeup once, she too said he was pretty cool. I like to play poker, people play poker in casino's, Trump owns a bunch of casino's. Trump's daughter is hot as funk, I'd like to date his daughter, Trump has also stated on live tv that he would as well

Wow these can't all be mere coincidences, do I  support Trump?

I don't think you even read most of my post, unless you find my theory to be utter crap, then that would explain you not mentioning it.
