You can only use this effect of "Watch Dog" once per turn. You cannot Special Summon during the turn you activate this effect.

 

You can set some stuff with it. New Challengers came up with a bunch of random power creep that never got to shine because of the meta.

Can't even do it turn 1, can't SS, and costs you a spell to do it. It's got way too many drawbacks to ever have a chance at being good unless they release some alt-win continuous spell or something else ridiculous.

You could set Kaiser Colosseum and protect it somehow I guess

I always thought about playing This in Fire Kings, because they wouldn't really care too much for the 'You cant Special Summon' clause, because Garunix/etc would all happen on your opponent's turn, and you could search things like Supply Squad/Tenki/etc, and they would go and fuel your additional plays.

I mean, it looked good on paper, but playing a gimmicky version of an already gimmicky Deck would just be counterproductive.

This card's too limiting to do anything worthwile really.
