Synopsis: "Apostle of the Exiled Goddess" is an archetype of Level 5 WATER Spellcaster-Type monsters that can be impractically used in other decks. They can be Special Summoned by Tributing/banishing 1 monster whose attribute matches their "2nd" attribute. (Their name is a combination between their 1st and 2nd attribute.) The monster that they are normally going to tribute with is the Exiled Goddess herself, with her special effects that makes her attribute six instead of one. Their Equip Spell support, named the "Forbidden Arms", allows the apostles to gain their "2nd" attribute, and greatly (but not too great) boost their power (and prevent bricking).

- This card can attack your opponent directly, but when it does so using this effect, the battle damage inflicted to your opponent is halved.

All monsters you control lose 100 ATK and DEF for each Exile Counter on this card. Equip Spell Cards on the field cannot be destroyed by card effects. When this card is activated: You can add 1 WATER Spellcaster-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. You can put 1 Exile Counter on this card; activate 1 of the following effects.

- Special Summon 1 WATER Fairy-Type Tuner monster from your hand or Graveyard.

- Send 1 Level 1 WATER Fairy-Type Tuner monster from your Deck to the Graveyard.

- Target 1 banished card; return it to the Graveyard. You must control a face-up "Apostle of the Exiled Goddess" monster(s) to activate/resolve this effect.

- Reveal any number of "Exiled Goddess" monsters and/or "Forbidden Arms" cards in your hand and shuffle them into the Deck, then draw cards equal to the number of cards you shuffled into the Deck +1.

During the End Phase, lose 100 LP for each Exile Counter on this card. You can only use each effects of "Labyrinth of the Forbidden Arms - Takachiho" once per turn.

 

Container of the Forbidden Arms - Hashima

Activate 1 of the following effects.

- Target 1 "Apostle of the Exiled Goddess" monster you control; add 1 "Forbidden Arms" Equip Spell Card that have the targeted monster's name in its card text from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.

- Reveal 1 "Forbidden Arms" Equip Spell Card in your hand; add 1 "Apostle of the Exiled Goddess" monster whose name is in the revealed card's card text from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.

You can only activate 1 "Container of the Forbidden Arms - Hashima" per turn.

 

Forbidden Arms - Amenonuhoko

[ Spell / Equip ]

Equip only to "Apostle of the Exiled Goddess - Doro". The equipped monster gains 1000 DEF and cannot be targeted or destroyed by an opponent's card effect. The equipped monster's attribute is also treated as EARTH. Once per turn, during your Main Phase: You can target 1 monster on the field; the equipped monster gains DEF equal to the targeted monster's ATK until the end of the Battle Phase. You can only control 1 face-up "Forbidden Arms - Amenonuhoko".

 

Forbidden Arms - Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi

[ Spell / Equip ]

Equip only to "Apostle of the Exiled Goddess - Yogan". The equipped monster gains 1000 ATK and cannot be targeted or destroyed by an opponent's card effect. If the equipped monster battles, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step. The equipped monster's attribute is also treated as FIRE. Once per turn, during either player’s turn, when another card or effect is activated that targets 1 or more cards on the field: You can target another card(s) on the field that would be an appropriate target(s) for that card/effect; that card/effect now targets the new target(s). You can only control 1 face-up "Forbidden Arms - Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi".

 

Forbidden Arms - Tonbokiri

[ Spell / Equip ]

Equip only to "Apostle of the Exiled Goddess - Nami". The equipped monster gain 500 ATK and DEF and cannot be targeted or destroyed by an opponent's card effect. The equipped monster's attribute is also treated as WIND. The equipped monster can attack twice during the same Battle Phase. Monsters destroyed by battle with the equipped monster are shuffled into the Deck instead of going to the Graveyard. You can only control 1 face-up "Forbidden Arms - Tonbokiri".

 

Forbidden Arms - Masamune

[ Spell / Equip ]

Equip only to "Apostle of the Exiled Goddess - Wain". The equipped monster's attribute is also treated as LIGHT. The equipped monster cannot be targeted or destroyed by an opponent's card effect. If the equipped monster battles a non-LIGHT monster, during damage calculation: The equipped monster’s ATK and DEF become equal to the ATK or DEF (whichever is higher) of the opponent’s battling monster +100, during damage calculation only. If the equipped monster destroys an opponent's monster by battle, after damage calculation: Banish that opponent's monster, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the banished monster's ATK. During your End Phase, if the equipped monster attacked this turn: Take damage equal to its ATK. You can only control 1 face-up "Forbidden Arms - Masamune".

 

Forbidden Arms - Muramasa

[ Spell / Equip ]

Equip only to "Apostle of the Exiled Goddess - Arukoru". The equipped monster's attribute is also treated as DARK. The equipped monster cannot be targeted or destroyed by an opponent's card effect. If the equipped monster battles a non-DARK monster, banish that monster without applying damage calculation, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the banished monster's DEF. During your End Phase, if the equipped monster didn't attack this turn: Take damage equal to its DEF. You can only control 1 face-up "Forbidden Arms - Muramasa".

- Target any number of cards on the field, up to the number of "Forbidden Arms" Equip Spell Cards you control; destroy them.

Meant to be the card the deck revolves around, hm? It's good that there's no overly broken combo enablers she can search, since she doesn't have a once per turn. However, there is only one themed card to recover her from banish, so resources are going to be limited. And adding from Graveyard is a bit iffy, since the field is very powerful, but it also means you only have to run one of each equip you need, improving consistency immensely.

This card's Attribute is also treated as WIND, FIRE, EARTH, LIGHT, and DARK while in the hand, Graveyard or face-up on the field. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; activate 1 of the following effects.
- Special Summon 1 WATER Spellcaster-Type monster from your hand, Deck or Graveyard.
- Add 1 WATER Spellcaster-Type monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand.
You can only use this effect of "Servant of the Exiled Goddess - Yosei" once per turn.

Is there a reason you didn't just make her effect archetype-limited? Special summoning any water spellcaster from the deck is really powerful, even if nothing quite exists to abuse it quite yet. There's just Choco Magician Girl, Gendo the Ascetic Monk, Fortune Lady Water, and a bunch of Ice Barriers. Still, it's too broad.

You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by Tributing 1 EARTH monster. You can only Special Summon "Apostle of the Exiled God - Doro" once per turn this way. If Summoned this way: You can add 1 WATER monster from your Deck to your hand. While this card is an EARTH monster, it gains this effect.
- This card can attack while in face-up Defense Position. If it does, apply its DEF for damage calculation.

Adding any water monster is also really broad. It can search Jigobyte, which can immediately be summoned since these are all spellcasters. If the Dragon Rulers were unbanned, it could search Tidal by destroying any other. It can also search Aqua Spirit, King of the Swamp, and Gameciel. Chances are good that something is going to get broken with such an effect on splashable cards like these. It's not a good idea.

All of these monsters could be really good splashed into other decks to make rank 5s. Its effect doesn't seem all that earthy, but it's fine. I'm not quite sure about the OCG for the attribute effect, but it is way simpler and less awkward.

1000 direct damage is pretty underwhelming, especially by today's standards and the standards of the rest of these monsters. The targeting and destruction prevention does make it really hard to remove, though, so it may be warranted.

You can Special Summon this card (from your hand) by Tributing 1 FIRE monster. You can only Special Summon "Apostle of the Exiled God - Yogan" once per turn this way. If Summoned this way: You can add 1 WATER monster from your Deck to your hand. While this card is a FIRE monster, it gains this effect.
- If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent.

Fire Water is cute. Piercing is meh. Personally, I'd expect fire to do burn.

Oh goody, Chaos toys. I'm not sure how chaos could use this card and the next one, but it's definitely a possibility. Banishing from graveyard here makes it so you can use hand traps like Effect Veiler and Yuki for its summon, and opens up a whole bunch of possibilities for abuse. And I think it'd be fine if it just destroyed the monster. Banishing is powerful, especially every turn from an untargetable indestructible monster.

I kind of expected this one to destroy spells/traps, since the other already does in monsters.

Bunches of effects here. This card does a lot, maybe too much. And it has no cost. 100 LP per counter is not a cost. Not even.

So it's basically ROTA for water spellcasters. And it has something to help you at almost any point of the game. And the atk boost makes your 3k untargetable indestructible monsters even more threatening, and makes it so the only way to get rid of them are non-targeting non-destroying removal or battle. UTL can't out everything, and when a rank 4 deck runs out of it, it'll basically be done. Not nearly as bad as Kozmos, but still powerful. It's interesting to note that there seem to be no Water Fairy Tuners in existence yet.

Yay, consistency. Puts your puzzle pieces together.

Equip only to "Apostle of the Exiled Goddess - Doro". The equipped monster gains 1000 DEF and cannot be targeted or destroyed by your opponent's card effects. The equipped monster's Attribute is also treated as EARTH. Once per turn, during your Main Phase: You can target 1 monster on the field; the equipped monster gains DEF equal to the target's ATK until the end of this turn's Battle Phase. You can only control 1 "Forbidden Arms - Amenonuhoko".

Judging from how much people gripe about Dark Destroyer, 3k untargetables are not fun to play against. And now it's got a spell speed 1 honest.

Equip only to "Apostle of the Exiled Goddess - Yogan". The equipped monster gains 1000 ATK and cannot be targeted or destroyed by your opponent's card effects. If this card battles, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step. The equipped monster's attribute is also treated as FIRE. Once per turn, during either player’s turn, when another card or effect is activated that targets 1 or more cards on the field: You can target another card(s) on the field that would be an appropriate target(s) for that card/effect; that card/effect now targets the new target(s). You can only control 1 "Forbidden Arms - Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi".

And now your field spell can't be Twin Twister'd. I think that's a bit much, considering nothing else you control can be destroyed either. If your field's your only weak point and you have this up to protect it, your opponent is going to be out of options.

Equip only to "Apostle of the Exiled Goddess - Nami". The equipped monster gain 500 ATK and DEF and cannot be targeted or destroyed by your opponent's card effects. The equipped monster's Attribute is also treated as WIND. If the equipped monster destroys an opponent's monster by battle: It can make a second attack in a row. If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can return this card to your hand. You can only control 1 "Forbidden Arms - Tonbokiri".

This is weird. It doesn't synergize with the wind monster at all. It does direct attacks, why does this activate when it destroys a monster? And it always comes back to your hand? May want to put a once per turn on that effect. You could summon Nami, add Nami, equip this to it, tribute Nami for Nami next turn and search another one. It's an odd interaction, not too benefiting, but I don't think it should exist.

Equip only to "Apostle of the Exiled Goddess - Wain". The equipped monster's Attribute is also treated as LIGHT. The equipped monster cannot be targeted or destroyed by your opponent's card effects. If the equipped monster battles a non-LIGHT monster, during damage calculation: The equipped monster’s ATK and DEF become equal to the ATK or DEF (whichever is higher) of the opponent’s battling monster, during damage calculation only. If the equipped monster destroys a monster by battle, after damage calculation: Banish that monster, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to its ATK. During your End Phase, if the equipped monster attacked this turn: Take damage equal to its ATK. You can only control 1 "Forbidden Arms - Masamune".

The burn damage could wind up to be a lot, around 2000, 2500 or so, but since it won't inflict much battle damage, I guess it balances out. On the other hand, this monster would only be able to beat over defense mode monsters or monsters with more def than atk, so it's not too useful.

The equipped monster cannot be targeted or destroyed by your opponent's card effects. At the start of the Damage Step, if the equipped monster battles a non-DARK monster: Banish that monster, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to its DEF. During your End Phase, if the equipped monster didn't attack this turn: Take damage equal to its DEF. You can only control 1 "Forbidden Arms - Muramasa".
The non-targeting banishment is good enough, you don't have to throw burn in there too. And what the heck? If it didn't attack this turn? Is the damage meant to be a downside or not?

Basically, the major changes I think you should make are making Yosei and the Apostles' search effects not generic, putting a bigger LP cost on the field spell, and tweaking Kusanagi's targeting effect. It's a really interesting if clunky archetype; attribute manipulating mechanics are always fun. I feel there should be some synchros, since the archetype revolves around 2 tuner monsters. And more spell/trap support, maybe. Something that recycles the banished monsters.

It's a really interesting if clunky archetype; attribute manipulating mechanics are always fun. I feel there should be some synchros, since the archetype revolves around 2 tuner monsters. And more spell/trap support, maybe. Something that recycles the banished monsters.

I added a Synchro monster for the archetype, and fixed some overly generic effects. Also made Tonbokiri more usable. I don't really have any idea for more Spell/Trap support, so I need help pls ;-;

Unfortunately, you can't, since the two month period for creator bumps did pass a few days ago (July 15/16th to be precise). That, and we don't know if you've added more (otherwise the standard rule thing applies).

 

However, you are free to remake this thread though at a later time, but right now, I do have to lock this; sorry about that.
