I've got a couple questions on "Vanguard of the Dragon"...

Vanguard's ability gives it 300 ATK points by discarding 1 Dragon Type monster from your hand. Can this ability be used more than once? And Does this ability last while it's in play, or until the end of the turn?

When someone tries to discard for Lightinig Vortex or other costs' date=' does it count as a card effect?

I've been seeing more Dark Worlds lately

No. You pay costs to activate effects. Costs are not effects unfortunately. Dark World cards will not activate when discarded as a cost.

These types of questions are all answered based on effect wording. Vanguard does not say "once per turn" or similar, so it can be used as often during a turn as you like. It also does not mention a time when the ATK gain expires (until the End Phase, during Damage Calculation only, etc), so it is permanent as long as it remains faceup on the field.

When they released the Dark Worlds, they thought that LV would break the game. Luckily they made it so Dark Worlds couldnt be activated via costs.

Summons don't START chains. Effects like Bottomless are activated post-summon. If you want to DD Crow before they summon DAD, you need to do it before the Main Phase because unless you do it once they enter the Main Phase, you have to wait for them to do something before taking an action.

Summons can't be chained to?

What does Bottomless do?

What he's trying to say is that the Special Summoning condition is not an effect that activates, and doesn't start a chain. If the conditions are correct, you simply say you're Special Summoning Dark Armed Dragon and place it on the field, to which then they can negate the summon (or once it is successfully summoned, activate Bottomless Trap hole on it).

You can say "I have 3 DARK monsters in my Graveyard, so I will Special Summon Dark Armed Dragon from my Hand", but your opponent cannot say "Not so fast Kaiba, I'm going to activate D.D. Crow to remove one of those DARK monsters so that you cannot Summon it!". By the time you attempt to Special Summon Dark Armed Dragon, its too late for D.D. Crow to do anything about the Summoning Condition.

When you summon DAD, you get priority to activate its effect to remove 1 DARK to nuke a card. Removing the card is the cost and then you target the card to nuke. At this point, your opponent can use Bottomless, etc. However, DAD's Ignition Effect does not require it to be faceup on the field, so Bottomless and Book won't stop its effect from resolving. So whoever told you that is wrong.

I have a Question on the commonly used Stardust and Goyo.

If I summon Stardust, it's arrested by my friend's Goyo, and he tries to use its effect on a Lightning Vortex of mine, would the Stardust come back to my side? Or is it his?

If my friend robs a Stardust with Goyo and tries to use its effect, would it revive on my side? Or his?

Stardust Dragon brings itself back on the side of the field whose Graveyard it was sent. Therefor, it will Special Summon itself on your side of the field.
