Arctic55
If the stuff discussed in these videos are fashion, I hate life. Thoughts?
Snatch Steal
I'm confused too, but >I hate life oh no. people are wearing weird clothes. like they do at conventions. it's the end of the world. oh my god.
mitchermitcher
I haven't watched the second vid but the first one came out today or something and I saw it before the thread was made. I like GradeA and all but I can't agree with this one. It's not normal, daily-life fashion, it never was meant to be. It's a form of art, meant to bring out and emphasize aspects of the human form. The reason you generally don't see people wearing sheet like that generally is because it's not meant to be worn outside of fashion shows and generally, no one does. Flash Flyer - Sakura
I didn't watch the first video since out of fairness, I really don't care about fashion trends; both locally and nationally. If you want to dress like you're a fashion model or something on the street, fine. You want to wear a specific type of clothing; go ahead. Want to wear men's jeans with legs that cut off a few inches above your shoes; it's your choice. I admit that the men's fashion in video 2 is weird for my tastes and isn't very practical, but people wear them so not chewing them out for it. Just for the record though, my usual clothes are usually a t-shirt of some kind (generally black/white with graphics on it; usually anime stuff from Hot Topic or other things related to interests), either denim shorts / cargo pants (or jeans, depending on the weather and/or level of formality that I need to dress for). And no, I don't spend excessive money buying fancy clothes from designer stores (whatever I got now is flashy enough, but is still functional). ----P.S. We recently got a Zara's in this state, but I have no plans of even going in there.
bury the year
Runway fashion isn't meant to be sold to the general public. Often they exaggerate themes that are present in the collection of which they're a part. The items that actually get sold are more subdued and... well, wearable. I think we have to take Grade's videos with a grain of salt. Several times, he said it was a joke video, so he either doesn't know his sheet or he knows it but came up with this. I'm not implying anyone is supposed to know fashion, since I myself don't particularly, but I'm wondering if the things he was shopping for were particularly weird on purpose. I have seen some high-end sites that stock rather unconventional pieces, tho, so I can understand what he's saying. It just isn't always the case. Arctic55
I think we need to also realize, he is probably mouthing off about specific "fashion" sites or stores that had weird clothes, because I'm sure anyone who shops can testify that they can find normal stuff easily.
