Halubaris Maphotika
I remember seeing it... It was a light. An extremely bright light. I remember waking up to the roar of steam-powered zeppelins cluttering the sky. The air was thick of life. Colors streamed through the suns rays, a collection of living colors that were heard, not seen. Oh the things I have seen and haven't seen. The evolution of the human species is both tried and true, but what we fail to really grasp is the futility of our own evolution. Surely we have reached the pinnacle by now, and yet it feels less than perfect. Our programming is adaptable, we are simply robots of flesh. Built from his image and sent out unto a new world. A world wrought from order, becoming chaos. Such Latin trivialities can have such little impact and yet they speak and influence more than we could ever imagine. Sometimes I imagine God. In my dreams I see him. Or rather, it. There is no image, no sight. I cannot see, hear, smell, taste, or feel. All I can do is know. All I can do is understand. Boundless light and energy, peace and serenity. Despite these concepts, it reeks of death. White souls forever singing the great hymns, stuck in a perpetual cycle. They are emotionless, spiritual corpses whose pupils have disappeared. They do not have any more senses. They simply sing, endlessly, in a chorus of beautiful light. They sing in jumbled up forms of multiple languages, but their mouths don't move. They have no tongue, there is no need of thought or speech in heaven. The singing is done in the echoes of the Holy spirit that lives inside of them. It is schizophrenic in its composition, jumping among multiple keys and tones with no set rhythm. Death, everywhere. Transparent corpses singing over and over again. Their whited eyes staring into an unknowable oblivion as they blindingly sing repeatedly. The white kingdom floods of marble and bronze, and the feet of the righteous never touches the ground. They do not respond to anything, they simply look forward. How can they, they're senses are gone. They may only know, yet they don't. It never ends. Eternity Eternity Eternity And then I see it. The gates. Two pathways. A stairwell leading down. I look as the emasculated spirits sing to the lost souls as they journey to depths of Hell to burn. They burn, yet they feel no pain, only guilt. They have become bags of flesh with no defining features but those that separate genders. They dance, drink, and debauch to hearts content. They laugh with manic intensity, an almost obsessive cackle. Yet they are empty. There is no soul, every night they bathe in the fires where their souls lay. The souls, wracked with guilt, pound at the bodies as tears swell down faces. All that can be heard are the cries of the night, begging for forgiveness. Then they walk to daytime, to be merry and jovial again, and forget the pain. Life and Death Age and Youth Darkness and Light Holy and Satanic Righteous and Tainted Where do I start? To discover the boundless. There can be no end. It never ends. The dream never ends, how can it? Those who dream during the day must be cursed to live it forever. Reality becomes broken. And through this we begin to understand God. The dreamer. His burden. Our burden. I've seen the stairs; soaked with flesh and blood as the fallen shed their life to become spirits. Spirits in service to God and his glory. How painless a serenity. Every step we feel less of ourselves, until we finally reach the top. To that end, we may finally gaze upon the Lord. It is the only way we can. No true human may gaze upon the figure, and so to walk among him in the valley of clouds would require us to die and become feelingless, blind to all mortal ideas and senses, our purpose straight and narrow. How beautifully wretched.
