That's true, I remember the anime version summoned Synchros from the Extra Deck that had already been used in that duel (which I think was against Z-ONE)

Pretty much. It also made their levels 1 and their Stats 0. Then synchro for Quasar with 5 mats cuz lol 5DS

The LV1 bit was part of Life Stream's anime effect. That said, it could have worked there.

It's just a re-use of the name, not meant to be an adaptation. If anything the effect if closer to Synchro Spirits.

The current Translation is "Gathering Wishes", but yes. Though Gathering Light is also an awful plot device card, just as a Spell.

So this is kinda like Branch! or Centrifugal Whatchamacallit for Synchro monsters, except it summons 2 things instead of 1. That difference... Makes it really viable actually. Karakuri tech?

This could be kinda cool if it was released IRL, although it would definitely need an OPT clause. Otherwise you get dumb stuff like Scrap Dragon looping into Scarlight/Stardust or something.

To be fair, Branch only gets you back 1 monster. This gives you back all of its Materials.

You could activate this as Chain Link 1, then Chain Link 2 the Synchro's effect, banishing the Tuner that would be Summoned by this. Ladder for days /w Metalfoes
