What is Loam Pox?

Loam Pox is a Black Green Discard Control deck that aims to use cards like Liliana of the Veil, Life from the Loam and Smallpox to destroy all of an opponent's permanents, locking them out of the game. Loam Pox is distinct from the Legacy archetype known as Lands due to the fact Loam Pox does not run a large number of tutors for Dark Depths and Thespian's Stage and instead focuses on locking the opponent out of the game. It can be seen as a Control style of Land deck.

How does Loam Pox win?

Loam Pox is a special breed of deck. Loam Pox does not "win" in a traditional manner. Instead, Loam Pox aims to put your opponent in a situation where they can't win, then you aim to kill them with either Nether Spirit, Punishing Fire or Waste Not. Loam Pox certainly is not a fast deck, far from it. Expect to be going into time in all of your rounds. That being said, this deck has wormed it's way into my heart as I've always just enjoyed this type of playstyle of whittling down the opponent's resources and killing them slowly.
