Fiendish Chain Dragon

lv 8 DARK

Dragon/Fusion/Effect

Must be Special Summoned by the effect of "Fang of Critias" while using "Fiendish Chain" and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. While this card is face-up on the field negate the effects of all face-up effect monsters your opponent controls. During either player's turn: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; while that target is face-up on the field, it cannot attack. This effect can only be used once while this card is face-up on the field.

ATK/3000 DEF/1500

The idea is neat, having an aditional use for chain is something it deserve to my eyes since most of the times it will stay on the field after its target its gone, but the dragon's effect is so unfair.

Even if the trap is unsearchable through conventional means it doesnt justify it, its skill drain/plasma on steroids, and on top of that if somehow you manage to get a monster bigger than him you cant attack at all (unless you re playing blue eyes).

Outside of raigeki, you re pretty much screwed if this hits the field

I too like the premise of turning a dead Fiendish Chain into a monster through The Fang of Critias, but I agree with the comment above in that it feels too overwhelming despite the effort required to Summon it: 3000 ATK is a high value for a monster that won't let your opponent's Effect Monsters attack, on top of negating their effects. Personally I would water down the attack lock effect somehow; I'm leaning towards turning it into a single-use targeting quick-effect, or something among those lines:

"During either player's turn: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; while that target is face-up on the field, it cannot attack. This effect can only be used once while this card is face-up on the field."

That way, the monster remains as a 3000-ATK walking Skill Drain plus an attack blocking effect as backup, but is not as restrictive for the opponent.
