Collector of Earthen Wares

DARK - Level 4 - Warrior/Effect - 1900/0

When this monster is Special Summoned, your opponent draws 2 cards, then reveals their hand. If your opponent does not have a "Pot" Normal Spell Card, "Jar" Normal Trap Card, or "Collector of Earthen Wares" in their hand when they reveal it, draw 3 cards.

Kinda dumb draw power card, but could potentially be fun.

Well this card is an automatic 3 of in Pendulum decks all you need is Appropriate and you can draw two cards immediately and then probably draw 3 more!

All I'm saying is this card should be a little slower maybe have it active "on your opponent's next Draw Phase" or have it be a flip effect monster.

Either that or make him Collect the opponent's Earthen Wares "You may add any "Pot" Normal Spell Card, "Jar" Normal Trap Card, or "Collector of Earthen Wares" in their hand when they reveal it to your hand." ;-)

I would put a hard OPT clause there, because summoning multiples of these through Soul Charge, Pendulum Summon, etc. can get ugly.

As for the effect, it's strong but I guess still OK. There is the risk for it to backfire with the popularity of Pot of Desires, plus the odd Pot of Duality, and even if it resolves in your favor, it ends up as a +1 for you in terms of card advantage, which shouldn't be terribly broken.

Okay, responding to each review in turn:

Isn't Appropriate banned? I'm pretty sure that it is.

Most Pots are Normal Spells, and Duality (in Decks that don't mind cutting off their Special Summon), Dichotomy (in Toons and other such Type-diverse Decks), and Desires (in like every Deck) are decidedly popular enough for there to be a distinct possibility of your opponent drawing into them. Jar of Avarice (and occasionally one of the other Jars) do come up in odd regularity, but most people don't run Avidity to my knowledge. I'd forgotten Avidity existed, actually.

Well, let's see. Let's say you Pendulum Summon 3 of these at once. Your opponent draws 6 cards and reveals their hand. If they have any Pot, any Jar, or another copy of this guy in your hand, all you did was go absurd minus. If they don't, you get to draw 9. If you're mad enough to keep going, you keep giving your opponent draws and praying they don't grab their Pots or Jars.

So, essentially, I made it a ridiculous gamble card, that's only really useful if you can snipe the Jars, Pots, and copies of this guy out of your opponent's hand with the slow hand manipulation cards we have, like Mind Haxorz, or one of the various terrible/banned ways to empty your opponent's hand before you start.

Appropriate is still at 3; likely because no one used it much. For the record, it has never been banned or even seen list attention. Sure, this card can combo with it, but as a Trap, it's too slow to be of any use.

This basically nets you a +3 draw if the opponent doesn't happen to carry the aforementioned cards, yes, which is something that I'm skeptical about to an extent, BUT it also gives your opponent 2 new cards to beat you up with; in all, a +1 which I suppose is fine. Yeah, people like running Desires/Cupidity nowadays; Avidity's only used to shuffle stuff into the Deck in stuff that can't play off banished cards well (i.e. Crystron and some other things).
