Once per turn, during your Main Phase, if this card was Pendulum Summoned in Attack Position from the hand this turn: You can target 1 monster on the field; destroy it, and if you do, inflict 800 damage to its controller. If this card is Pendulum Summoned from the Extra Deck: Return it to the hand.

Once per turn: You can add 1 "Spirit Crystal" monster from your Deck to your hand.

Monster Effect:

Monsters your opponent controls, except Pendulum Monsters, cannot target this card for attacks. While you have 2 cards in your Pendulum Zones, monsters your opponent controls with a Level between (exclusive) the Pendulum Scales of the cards in your Pendulum Zones cannot attack. Once per turn: You can target 1 "Spirit Crystal" monster that was Pendulum Summoned from the hand and whose monster effect was not used; Tribute that monster, and if you do, you can use the targeted monster's effects up to 2 times.

Interesting, though Spirit Reactor lacks decent targets (unless one actually wants to use it against pendulums, which makes it reek of plot device and "copy yuya's high end scale").

Core is somewhat boring, though it can keep destroying monsters it is basicly a worse eccentric archfiend (considering it takes more time to do its job).

Governor is the usual level 7, scale 4 "boss monster", which completely prevents non-pendulums from attacking it and actually using the pendulum scale in a restrictive way, though the interesting aspect is that it an allow other members of that archtype to activate their effects twice, also it can search core, too bad reactor cannot change the scale of the card in the other pendulum zone.

Reactor prevents all own monsters from being destroyed (once per turn), while any player controls at least 1 of the 4 elemental attributes, also it has an useless effect to buff it up to 2k atk, while sitting on a level 1 body.

 

All in all this is more than I expected from Leo Akaba, considering his monsters (except Governor's attack preventing aspect) are hardly overpowered, nor useless.

OT: In all honesty, I was expecting E/E/E. I'm kind of not surprised that he's using Pendulums though.

I was expecting S/S/S (spades; coat collar) to Himika's theoretical hearts (hair), Reiji's diamonds (earrings; shirt pattern, as a child without earrings), and Reira's clubs (jacket decoration).

He could have experimented with Dennis Pendulums when he returned ... jokes aside the last episodes about one world, which was split made it painfully obvious that "yuya's pendulum mechanic" was already existing in the united world, in which Leo Akaba lived and that Yuya's Pendant simply kept the pendulum mechanic inside of itself until yuya gets them, which means Akaba should definitely be able to use it (and it being an inherently supporting mechanic for other summon mechanics makes it important if one can actually access all 4 mechanics).
