Sleepy
Original Thread (locked): https://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/topic/357208-offer-of-nightmares/ When your opponent activates an Effect Monster's effect: You can reveal 1 Ritual Monster in your hand with equal or higher Level; negate that monster's effect, and if you do, you can immediately Ritual Summon your monster by Tributing monsters from your hand or your side of the field, with a total Level exactly equal to the Ritual Monster's. The monster whose effect was negated can be used for this Ritual Summon, or banished if it was in the Graveyard. -The changes make it so that it can now negate anything equal to or lower than the Ritual revealed, so a Level 12 Ritual can negate virtually anything.-You can use the negated monster as Ritual fodder, but you still need to compensate up to achieving exact Levels with your other cards.-You can negate and Tribute the monster, no matter where it was when it activated its effect, that's why using it from the Graveyard banishes it instead of Tributing it.-Even if you cannot Ritual Summon, you can still just go for the negation.-As per right now, it doesn't work in Ranks. I guess it wouldn't break anything but I'm still unsure. I had long since let the thread die and fall into obscurity, but let's see~=D
Darj
So, with this updated text I take the Trap itself is the card doing the Ritual Summon. In that case, I suggest the following text:When an opponent's monster effect is activated: You can reveal 1 Ritual Monster in your hand whose Level is higher than or equal to the Level that monster; negate that effect, and if you do, you can Tribute monsters from your hand or Graveyard and/or Tribute from your opponent's hand or field or banish from the Graveyard the opponent's monster whose effect was negated by this card's effect, whose Levels equal the Level of the revealed Ritual Monster, then Ritual Summon the revealed monster. Yeah... it sounds kinda redundant to have 2 "Tribute from the hand or field" lines in the text, but couldn't think in a way to simplify them in one without remaining clear. An alternative is banishing the opponent's monster regardless of where it is: not only that will make the effect easier to write and understand, also it gives the card a little D.D. Crow-ish bonus of banishing the monster, avoiding triggering any Graveyard effects or leaving the monster on the grave for the opponent to use it as fodder or combos later on. When an opponent's monster effect is activated: You can reveal 1 Ritual Monster in your hand whose Level is higher than or equal to the Level that monster; negate that effect, and if you do, you can Tribute monsters from your hand or Graveyard and/or banish from the hand, field or Graveyard the opponent's monster whose effect was negated by this card's effect, whose Levels equal the Level of the revealed Ritual Monster, then Ritual Summon the revealed monster. I really like the banish suggestion. It'd simplify the effect and work from anywhere. At the same time it can hurt a little more on Pendulums, which is amusing.Something to note is that it doesn't require the negated monster to be used if you want to Ritual Summon after negating. The previous thread's version's intention was that the negated monster had to be used. Though between edits that part has gotten lost.
Darj
Oh right, I got stuck with the card's text fixes so I didn't really comment on the card.Should be needless to say, but I really like it: it gives Ritual decks an edge by offering them an omni-monster negator that makes their Ritual Summon more practical. It can be highly disruptive by negating and banishing the opponent's monster, while dropping a Ritual and activating their effects (if applicable) during the opponent's turn.
