Sleepy
Target up to 3 non-Effect, non-Pendulum, Normal monsters in any Graveyards, with a total Level of up to 8: Place 1 Soul Counter on this card for each target, then Special Summon that monster(s) in Defense Position. If this card leaves the field, destroy 1 monster Summoned this way. If you control no monsters Summoned this way: You can destroy this card, and if you do, gain 1000 LP for each Soul Counter on it. This is part of my private pool of cards at Duel Portal. The reason why it is written the way it is is that you cannot revive non-Effect Ritual/Fusion/Synchro/Xyz Monsters, and cannot revive Gemini monsters. This is strictly for true vanillas. It's use becomes progressively better the lower your Levels are. Level 3 or lower vanillas will give you relative freedom, reviving a Level 8 is not really the best idea, and reviving a Level 7 like Red-Eyes + a Level 1 vanilla Tuner, or 2 Level 4 vanillas, are legit uses. The card has a safety pillow for meeting a floodgate like Vanity's Emptiness. It'll at least still give you up to a 3000 LP gain.Though reviving 3 monsters and using them up for bigger Summons is more ideal for this. The original concept was that it revived 1 vanilla (in any position) and then gave it a bonus (something like +1000 ATK, or protection of some sort). Then I changed to a double revival with nothing else. The actual change into a triple revival is something I just thought out as I was posting it on YCM. Tell me your thoughts and suggestions please. Darj
Being able to Summon multiple monsters reminded me of Tri-Wight. I really don't mind this being able to Summon multiples since it can only get back vanillas, so the next best things you can do with them is Synchro or Xyz Summoning with them. Plus as a Trap is a bit slow, which is fine as it cuts its explosiveness. What's the worst this could do? Summon 4 Level2s and then 2 Rank2s? And even then, it would need the graveyard setup first. This is just a nitpick but the name could be better IMO. Like, it's too long and specific, and this is just my opinion but it kinda looks awkward, and most likely would sound awkward too if I were to call its name during an IRL duel ^^" Also, the idea of a whale having fun with the souls from a graveyard at the middle of the sea it's... weird, oddly specific and creepy in a way; I mean, you have this cute smiling whale wearing a fancy top hat, but casually strolling in a water graveyard, then it starts singing and suddenly you see the dead rise from the waves... x.xAt the very least I wouldn't call its chant as "playful"; maybe "merciful" or "miraculous" since it has a revival effect; and you can remove the word "graveyard" from the card name and it will be aesthetically better; again, IMO.So, in short, something like "Whale Miraculous Chant", or "Chant of the Miraculous/Savior/Merciful/etc. Whale". I had a blast reading this post xPActually, you cannot revive 4 Level 2s. You can only revive up to 8 stars and up to 3 monsters (whichever happens first). Although it has more flexibility than Tri-Wight. I was gonna list the number of combinations but it is a very long list considering you can use it on a single Level 1 to 8 or on any combinations of 2 or 3..... Yes this card is meant to be a combo piece that leads to other Summons. Tribute, Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz.Also yes.... 90% of the cards in the game are too slow for the game xD This card is meant to support casual experimentation rather than anything competitive despite being a potential power play. You probably know my real shady motive for giving it a LP gain effect ;9 In some ancient cultures, the gate to the underworld is showcased as the mouth of a big beast (earth or sea creatures included here). Being swallowed by a whale has been used before as an allegory for it (as weird as it sounds). It's supposed to be a bit eerie and dark, although not downright diabolic. Miraculous/Merciful are way too positive to describe the image of what is essentially a requiem. I do admit though that the name was improvised AF and not entirely accurate either xD
Darj
If that's the concept of the card, then I can get behind a more eerie vibe for it. Oh, and the word "requiem" sounds nice to me; I suggest to include it in the card's name somehow. But definitely not the word "playful" IMO xDAnd... right, I overlooked the "up to 3 monsters" limit; that's fine, it furthers keeps the card fair. Toffee.
You could, if you wanted, bump the Level cap up to 10. I mean, Vanilla Tuners are incredibly niche as it is, and I guess you could make something like Trishula on the off chance you had, say, Tune Warrior with you, or whatever. Unless that would be counterproductive to the initial idea behind the card, as I know you want it to cater more to lower level monsters.
