Azure's AMA

How does turning your new age feel to you looking ahead? What are your thoughts on it?

It's most likely going to just be another year. Not much is going to change until the summer when I can have time to get a part-time job. It'll be 2018 when things change a bit more, be it heading on to uni, doing another course at tech, or just getting a job for a bit. 2017 is probably going to be a fairly standard year, finish up my current year and net an A-level equivalent, and hopefully get my driving licence. Other than that try and get money saved up for a trip to Japan, for educational purposes, or a leisure trip to America, probably Los Angeles for the USS Iowa museum.

Ever consider visiting any part of the US?

I know I want to go round looking at different museum ships, mainly the Iowa and Hornet museums. Also have a general look around places. No real locations other than Los Angeles (for the Iowa museum) and Alameda (for the Hornet museum), so California is up there. Also want to see New York City. Those would be the main 3, haven't really looked into anywhere else.

What do you find appealing about KC/WG/VB?

KanColle - Most of the characters. Having both an anime and a few manga series (Fubuki 4Koma, Shimakaze, various doujin), helps get a good understanding of the characters. The voices in game also help a lot.

Warship Girls - Like the gameplay here more so than KanColle, partially due to skills. Still don't have any idea of what happens in the targeting phase in echelon formation but eh.

Victory Belles - I can't comment on this as it hasn't actually been released. I do like the voices so far, especially with each ship speaking in its native language. Gameplay does seem a bit different, though not entirely sure.

What will happen to this AMA after the birthday?

KC - What in particular do you like about the characters?

WG - What other things do you like about the gameplay?

Both - What are your 3 favorite characters in and 1 favorite non-character factor of each game, and why?

Then it becomes a holiday one. Then it dies.

KanColle - Varies on each ship, so I'll do one from each type.

  • Destroyer - Shigure - I like Shigure due to the fact that she has went through a lot, and on top of being cute is one of the ships I want to protect the most.
  • Heavy Cruiser - Kako - Kako reminds me slightly of myself, being mainly lazy but can get stuff done. That and I just like characters who are sort of sleepy.
  • Battleship -This is a toss up between Haruna and Warspite, though leaning more towards Warspite. Honestly the only thing I dislike about Warspite is the pronunciation of admiral. The art and the voice Uchida Shū does looks and sounds great, and the personality of Warspite is what I would want for one of the Queen Elizabeth class.
  • Light Carrier - Jun'you - I really like my alcoholic carrier, I don't really know why but Jun'you is one of the ships that sticks out to me very easily.
  • Standard Carrier - Graf Zeppelin - Graf Zeppelin was the first Standard Carrier to stick out to me, and is the only German ship in KanColle I like (Eugen and Bismarck I prefer the Warship Girls version, and the destroyers and subs I'm impartial to.) That and her voice is one of my favorites.

Don't really care much for subs, seaplane tenders and such so.

The gameplay just seems more refined. You can get a clear view of what is needed for expeditions, there are nodes you can skip if your recon is high enough (I think it is recon), friend list + the ability to PvP them on top of your normal PvP matches, skills, and you can easily see the requirements for each node.

KanColle - Asashio as she is my birthday ship, Warspite because nationality bias and stuff stated above, and Jun'you, drunken and energetic personality. For my favourite factor probably the library, as it gives a voiced background on the ship as well as saves any seasonal art for the ships.

Warship Girls - Tirpitz good skill and modified art is nice, Saratoga best carrier in the game, and Sirius/Renown can't decide on this one Sirius is just a great ship with good AA and ASW attributes and Renown just gets better the more nodes you hit. For my favourite factor probably the enhancing.

Do you like mechs? If so what kinds of mechs?

I like some. Been a while since I actually watched a mecha show but I will always have a place for Valvrave Unit 4 Hinowa.

How was your birthday?

Good, went to see Rogue One, due to plan changes as I wouldn't have been able to see it one Tuesday. Got a pair of computer glasses, Honoka's Honnori Honoka Iro album, and £90. Having an actual birthday dinner on Tuesday after relatives arrive from New Zealand.
