The Stalliest of Stalls (Advanced Set #5)

Hello! This is EpicBoss99! So today I bring you what I've been working on for the past couple of days in terms of an archetype. I always wanted an archetype of hand traps that weren't PSY-Frames, because I felt like that archetype didn't really do too much negation all-around and focused more on summoning their boss, Omega. So this is sort of a sequel to PSY-Frames with adding the stunning power of Barrier Statues. The only real interaction that this archetype does with other cards is stuff like Monster Reincarnation and support spells that'll get your key monsters back to your hand. The ultimate goal of this archetype is stall like crazy, a strategy that's kinda looked down upon in this current meta, but I think is still super fun. So I give you: Guardian Angels! Enjoy!

Timentes, the Traveler

Level 4 | EARTH | Warrior-Type | Effect

900/1200

(This card is always treated as a "Guardian Angel" card.)

You can only control 1 "Timentes, the Traveler". When this card is destroyed by battle: You can send 1 "Guardian Angel" monster from your Deck to the Graveyard, then target 1 "Guardian Angel" monster in your Graveyard with a different Attribute than the sent monster, except "Timentes, the Traveler"; add it to your hand. When this card leaves the field by an opponent's card effect, you can add 1 "Guardian Angel" monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand, except "Timentes, the Traveler". You can only activate each effect of "Timentes, the Traveler" once per turn. 

 

Sancti, Guardian Angel of the Sacred Heavens

Level 8 | LIGHT | Fairy-Type | Effect

1000/1000

Cannot be Summoned. During either player's turn, when you would take damage, you can discard this card; add 1 Level 8 "Guardian Angel" monster from your Deck to your hand. and if you do, that damage becomes 0. You must have no other monsters in your Deck, hand, field, or Graveyard to activate this effect, except "Guardian Angel" monsters. You can only activate this effect once per turn.

 

Noctis, Guardian Angel of the Moon's Shadows

Level 8 | DARK | Fairy-Type | Effect

1000/1000

Cannot be Summoned. During either player's turn, when your opponent would Special Summon a monster(s) from the Extra Deck; you can discard this card; negate the Summon, and if you do, banish those cards. You must have no other monsters in your Deck, hand, field, or Graveyard to activate this effect, except "Guardian Angel" monsters. You can only activate this effect once per turn.

 

Ignis, Guardian Angel of Blazing Courage

Level 8 | FIRE | Fairy-Type | Effect

1000/1000

Cannot be Summoned. When an opponent's monster declares a direct attack: You can discard this card; negate the attack, then end the Battle Phase, and if you do, inflict 1000 damage to your opponent. During either player's turn, when a card or effect is activated that would inflict damage to you: you can discard this card; make that effect damage to you 0, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the damage you would've taken. You must have no other monsters in your Deck, hand, field, or Graveyard to activate this effect, except "Guardian Angel" monsters. You can only activate one "Ignis, Guardian Angel of Blazing Courage" effect per turn, and only once that turn.

 

Naturae, Guardian Angel of the Innocent Forest

Level 8 | EARTH | Fairy-Type | Effect

1000/1000

Cannot be Summoned. During either player's turn, when your opponent would add a card(s) from their Deck to their hand, except during their Draw Phase: you can discard this card; draw 1 card for each card that would be added to their hand. You must have no other monsters in your Deck, hand, field, or Graveyard to activate this effect, except "Guardian Angel" monsters. You can only activate this effect once per turn.

 

Oceanum, Guardian Angel of Flowing Rivers

Level 8 | WATER | Fairy-Type | Effect

1000/1000

Cannot be Summoned. During either player's turn, when your opponent activates a Spell/Trap card or effect: you can discard this card; negate the activation, and if you do, banish it. You must have no other monsters in your Deck, hand, field, or Graveyard to activate this effect, except "Guardian Angel" monsters. You can only activate this effect once per turn.

 

Caelum, Guardian Angel of Rebellious Winds

Level 8 | WIND | Fairy-Type | Effect

1000/1000

Cannot be Summoned. During either player's turn, when your opponent would Special Summon a monster(s), except from their Extra Deck, or when a monster effect is activated: you can discard this card; negate the activation or effect, and if you do, banish it, and if you do, gain 1000 Life Points. You must have no other monsters in your Deck, hand, field, or Graveyard to activate this effect, except "Guardian Angel" monsters. You can only activate this effect once per turn.

 

Deus, Guardian Angel of the Vast Universe

Level 0 | LIGHT | Fairy-Type | Fusion | Effect

Cannot be Fusion Summoned. Must be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by banishing 6 "Guardian Angel" monsters with different Attributes from the Graveyard that were sent there by their own effects, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This card's Special Summon cannot be negated. This card's effect cannot be negated. Unaffected by card effects. Cannot be Tributed, or used as a Synchro, Fusion, or Xyz Material for a Summon. This card cannot be declared as an attack target, but your opponent can attack directly if this is the only monster you control. During each of your End Phases, place 1 Principium counter on this card. When there are 5 Principium Counters on this card, you win the Duel.

Clear Skies

Quick-Play Spell Card

Target up to 2 "Guardian Angel" monster(s) from your Graveyard; add them to your hand. Their effects cannot be activated this turn. You can only activate 1 "Clear Skies" per turn.

Emergency Blessing

Counter Trap Card

Target 1 "Guardian Angel" monster in your hand or Graveyard; its effect is treated as this card's effect, and this card is treated as being discarded. You can only activate 1 "Emergency Blessing" while your Life Points are higher than 4000, and you can only activate 1 "Emergency Blessing" while your Life Points are 4000 or less. During your opponent's turn: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; negate the next attack this turn from a monster your opponent controls (this is a Quick Effect). You cannot activate cards or effects during the turn this card is activated, except for "Guardian Angel" cards or cards that target "Guardian Angel" monsters in their effects.

my only real issue with the archetype is deus, if it can't be synchro summoned why bother making it a synchro at all and not just make it a fusion that summons the same way

A reminder that the Advanced Clause for Multiples still applies, so anything else you need to point out about the set?

 

But yeah, while there are Ultimaya / Bishilbaalkin that can't be Synchro Summoned, they do involve some of the general things related to Synchro Summoning. In this case, you're probably better off making it a regular Effect Monster.

Also thread moved to Casual b/c said card is a Divine-Beast monster / DIVINE and isn't permitted in Advanced (at least for now).

Changed Deus to a LIGHT Fairy-Type Fusion monster. Sorry about that. I wanted it to be Divine Beast so that it wasn't one of the normal 6 archetypes. XD Could my post be moved back somehow? :)

If you want this to go back into Advanced, you do need a short explanation on your design process (what are these supposed to be doing, any interactions with existing stuff that should be known, what your goal was for this set, etc).
